I am baffled, Where's the pain I expecting?
What. The. Heck.I just received this epilator, opened the box, and tried it out on a section of my lower leg.I couldn't feel it! At. All.I was expecting all this pain, thinking I'd have to ease myself into it... and nothing. Up closer to my knee I did start to feel it, and I can see the skin there turned a little pink, but it was totally bearable.Next I wanted to see how painful it was going to be on my underarms. Same thing! I almost felt nothing. Is it because it's going so fast? I could see a few spots where it seems like the hairs broke off instead, but not too many.I am just baffled. I did notice that it hurt more if I placed the epilator directly onto the hairs versus sliding along the skin. I wonder if that roller confuses your sensory nerves or something.

Worth every penny and not as painful as it may look!
I will never buy another razor again! This is the product that anyone looking for the best results from hair removal is seeking! Forget expensive waxes, DIY messy wax, painful plucking, nair burns, razor burns, and even ingrowns! This little device is a POWERHOUSE and so effective. It is well made, built to last, and gets it all done!! I have a very low pain tolerance but I usually take one or two advil 30 mins before starting and can finish head to toe in under two hours with barely any pain! It might look a little shocking when you're done (as it is pulling hair out) but it quickly fades! WORTH THE MONEY!!!!! I cannot stress it enough I have two in my home at all times.

Advice & Review Philip’s Epilator
Okay I’m breaking this review into two parts, for those looking for advice read part one, for those looking for a product review read part two!Part One: It HURTS. I read the reviews and thought people were being dramatic, they are not… but they also aren’t lying when they say it gets better. If you are planning on using this every where my biggest piece of advice is start with just the armpits, they hurt the worst so everywhere else feels like a breeze after. Take a HOT bath or shower before and exfoliate really well. It’s best to use the first few times at night. If you are of age grab a glass of wine or two and make sure you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Go slowly and take your time. I find it’s easier to do in chunks, rather than strips like you would shaving. One thing I wish I had done looking back is taking it one area at a time; I full sent and did pretty much my whole body and was SO uncomfortable. While you are here also grab some witch hazel for after, you will need it. I like T.N. Dickinson’s the most. ALSO if you are prone to hives/have eczema or other related issues BE CAREFUL, the first time I had a solid histamine reaction, if you have red bumps and swelling take a benadryl and give your body a break.Part Two: I am an epilator baby so this is the only product I have owned, but it gets the job done. I haven’t had any major issues with it grabbing skin and it’s relatively comfortable to use. It is corded, but the cord is long and flexible. It has one head and cleaning tools included. It isn’t the most ergonomic product out of what i have looked at, so if you have accessibility issues it might not be the easiest to use. My biggest complaint is that it is LOUD. I mean it makes my hair dryer seem quiet kind of loud, but other than that, solid product, arrived intact and haven’t had any issues more than a month later!

Sometimes, less is more
I “downgraded” from my Braun 9 to this and I’m so happy - this is faster, easier and way less painful! My first epilator was similar but Braun - I used it for more than 10 years - didn’t even need to replace the head throughout that time. For just a bit over 3 years with my Braun 9 I’ve been so frustrated with the lack of contact between the tweezers and the skin and the amount of time it took to remove the hair because of the flexible movement in all directions; the charger and the inability to use it once charging had left me plenty of times in the middle waiting for it to get back to work; plus it was crazy painful, especially at the end.First time back to basics with this and I love it - the epilator is so light, I need a fraction of the time compared to my previous one, no pain whatsoever and the washable head makes it really easy to maintain it clean. The only minor inconvenience that I could possibly think of is how it’s going to work on 220v once traveling to Europe. But that’s really minor and temporary! I’m so happy I went with that - sometimes, the more sophisticated they make a product, the harder it is it use and enjoy it. Plus, it’s a fraction of the price of the new ones. I doubt that I’ll ever go back to a rechargeable one.

great for thick hair!
this is the best hair removal device I decided to order. I've wanted to stop shaving and have the roll on wax but keeping up with it can be costly. yes, it hurt. BUT! I think for the long term aspect it's perfect. the only mess you'll have to clean up is your own hair instead of wax strips. I have really thick hair everywhere and shaving only lasts me a day or two. Used it on my arms and armpits to start and am very pleased. the hair on my pits is super thick and I haven't waxed them in forever and I will say, it was the worst thing I've felt but it is to be expected. I didn't use the guard either for the sensitive parts so I kind of screwed myself that way. my skin is smooth and I don't have to worry about it for another week or two! I haven't gotten to use it on my legs but I'm sure it will still hurt lol. after you continue to use it you get used to it. for the money and thinking about how long it'll last and how much you end up using it, it is worth the money. BUYYYYY(if your pain tolerance is high)

Ouch it’s working 😅
First pass — I’m new to epilators. I knew there’d be pain but you can imagine my surprise as a heavily tattooed person that the pain is on par to getting a tattoo. Can’t wait to be acclimated. My whole body started to sweat. That being said it’d pulling the hairs out alright! It might take some going over the same spot but it’s working. Excited to see how this goes over time.
