NightS Paperback – January 14, 2014

The book itself: SuBLime has really put out a great, quality product. The dialogue runs very smoothly, so kudos to Ms. Schilling and Ms. Aker. I hate it when dialogue is awkward and sounds like they just used an online translator. The book has FOUR color pages, need I say more? I probably don't, but I will. This company has always put out quality titles and products, so I know my money is well spent. And it's printed in the U.S.A. (yay! no outsourcing!)The stories: The book is made up of three stories, none of them connected to one another. The titular story, NightS, is the shortest one, but also the funniest one.Forbidden Love: NightS- A yakuza and a transporter meet in the dark of the night to do business with one another. Love yakuza stories and this one is not the exception. This is also the story of the book with the hot smex. Only one chapter plus a bonus story, but the characters are sad and funny at the same time. Well worth it.Young Love: Emotion Spectrum- Sweet story. High school boys fall in love with each other and cuteness ensues. Only one chapter, but what a wonderful chapter it is. Chaste kisses and hot hugs!Romantic Love: Reply-This story is the bulk of the book. And it's so romantic. A mechanic meets a car salesman. The salesman is described as a "cold hearted, poker faced guy" by someone and the mechanic as "cute." Their story is slow to develop and so very sweet. The extra chapter lets you see how the relationship progresses three months later. Aww.Kou Yoneda is able to successfully depict different kinds of love in this book. They are all great. They all leave you wanting more, as any good book should. Your money is well spent. Your NightS will be filled with love.

This isn't my favorite Kou Yoneda. That honor goes to saezuru tori wa habatakanai, but they don't carry it on Amazon in English. I wish they did. However, her shorter works are amazing as well, and to put them all in a collection so you can own them all without tracking each one down individually (and probably paying more) is great. The stories have a really nice mixture of sweetness and conflict, and sometimes they can be really funny as well. Any time she's writing about the yakuza, the plot in her stories gets really fast-paced, but she never rushes through the romantic connections through her characters. There's no instant-love here; the psychology and relationships of the characters have more depth to them than a lot of characters in manga. My favorite story here is "Reply," which is about two young men who work at a car dealership and slowly realize their friendship is becoming something more, although one of them is more than a little conflicted about it.Also, the art is amazing. Even the smallest frames have the same kind of detail work as the cover, and her characters are always drawn with such precision and beauty. The translation is clear and has good grammar. A collection worth reading more than once.

Has various stories, had me a little confused at times but not bad

Based on the glowing reviews I read, I decided to take a chance with this manga. This is definitely not the worst that I have read, but I think the hype is a bit undeserved.I expect a certain level of emotion from yaoi, which I did not find here. Each of the characters were stiff, with very little expression, and their dialogue seemed overly polite and stilted. I understand that Japanese uses honorifics and "higher class" speech, but this was excessive. The design of the speech bubbles made it incredibly difficult to tell who was speaking (there was no small arrow pointing to the appropriate character, which I'm used to seeing).This is more your fix if you want introspection and long, meaningful looks. I found that I did not particularly care for any of these characters and I was not interested in the stories. Just a little too low-key for me.

I want to know more about the characters and their stories. The stories is short,and I was hoping it will have more depth into the each stories. The ending of Nights was funny in my opinion,and I like the ending of that story. All the story is cute, and the art is simple, but pretty to look at.

This is another great book from Kou Yoneda I just wish I can get NightS - another night but it's only being sold on kindle and I am not buying it there.

Excellent characters and art. Shockingly full short stories. Each will leave you wishing there were more

It’s exactly as described and in new condition. The translation of this is also good, I’ve heard that other Yoneda Kou work was not properly translated.

I've wanted this product for a while after reading it online. The translation is brilliant and it was not damaged in shipping.

Llegó a tiempo en el día establecido pese a ser fechas decembrinas.Respecto a la historia, me gustó más de cuando la leí por primera vez en digital. Las tres historias son buenas de distintas maneras.No me arrepiento de esta compra, totalmente recomendado

Demorou um pouco para a Amazon conseguir o exemplar de NightS, mas da feita que foi enviado chegou na minha casa super rápido, sem problemas. Estou muito satisfeita. Estaria mais feliz se tivesse vindo com um marcador de livros ou algo assim rsrs mas... eu adoro a Amazon, foi uma boa compra. E em relação ao mangá, ele é absolutamente lindo, a tradução é excelente, e as histórias são maravilhosas. A Kou Yoneda é uma das minhas mangakas favoritas, então ter um exemplar dela em minhas mãos é uma felicidade sem fim.

Después de 'Pájaro que trina no vuela', Yoneda es una de mis autoras favoritas. Obviamente estas historias no se acercan al tan aclamado manga de Yoneda, sin embargo las recomiendo totalmente para conocer más de la autora, apreciar su arte y enamorarte de los preciosos personajes de este tomo de historias cortas.

If it's Yoneda Kou then obviously it's my instinct to buy it. This is book is awesome as always read it online and bought the physical copy.
