Fantastic LED Xp-mass Tree Dimmer
I used it to dim the lights on a new Balsam Hill 7.5" Norwegian Spruce Christmas Tree. Just took the tree down. It was up since early Dec. When it was new and I noticed the LED lights I had ordered for it were very very bright, so bright that they would overwhelm everything else about the tree. I had choices, but I ordered the white LEDs because they are supposed to last much longer, more durable to hard knocks, and uses less current. I was very happy with the tree but wished I could tone the light down a little. I got this device within a couple days and we all liked it. One can adjust anywhere from around 20% to 100% or any thing in-between (in steps of 10%). We have found this so easy, it comes with 2 RF remote controls that you don't even have to be in the same room to operate the tree lighting. At night, when we have artificial room lighting, the tree looks best at about 60%. I have seen some very sunny days when the room. gets a lot of sunlight, it looks better turned up higher, maybe even up to 100%. These new LED Xp-mass are great but a little bright sometimes, this is just what you need to take the power down a little. Works just like they say and doesn't cost too much. When I use the Greek letter Chi (prefer to add the Rho) lest some think it's the pejorative letter X of our Latin alphabet, always a very strong negative meaning.

Added the missing link to our lights
We added 100ft of outdoor string lights we purchased from Amazon, lights themselves where great, bright with dimmable bulbs. However the lights simply turned on and off by plugging & unplugging from the socket. Added this outdoor dimmer switch, completely changed the use of the string lights. Remote on & off, when sitting at night relaxing we set the string lights to 5% brightness, very peaceful and relaxing. Company comes over we set between 60-80% brightness. Working on the deck at night 100%. Nice timer function, set the timer to 30 minutes and the lights go out. Really as made the lights more usable.Remote is radio frequency, old fashioned but works great, does not interfere with other devices and we don’t need are smart devices on the deck, I will repeat, you don’t need you smart device, escape and relax on the deck.Check your string lights are dimmable and if they are you should buy this.

Inconsistent with lighter loads (shorter LED strings)
TL:DR - 2 units, both with the same issue..... Remote / dimming functions stop working, seemingly incompatible with a load of ~100W or less.Connected this to an LED outdoor string light set consisting of 48 -1W LED bulbs.Out of the box I noted even at 10% brightness, the bulbs were still fairly bright. Not a huge deal, I know dimmability of LED lights can vary but worth noting. Otherwise all was well for about 2 weeks, when the remote stopped working. For the next 3 days I could unplug the unit and reconnect to regain control for a short time.Afterward though, no reset would help. Power on, lights came on at 100%, no adjustments.Tried both remotes, tried new batteries, no luck. Blue light on the remotes show working, but no change. So I bought a second one, thinking the first was just defective, hey it happens.... Second one comes in, this one works for all of 30 minutes, starts doing the same thing! For now a reset gets the remotes working but I know where this is going...Then it dawned on me, this thing is rated up to 1000W, what if the ~50W load I have on it is simply too light and the system can't recognize enough is connected to properly regulate the dimmer. (Most likely a Triac circuit). It's very possible that I lucked out with the first one based on internal tolerances, but likely changes in weather / heat brought the load down just enough to lock it up.I grabbed an old halogen (250W) bulb and plugged it up to the dimmer circuit.... Eureka... System works perfectly. Disconnect, reconnect LED string, works for 10 minutes, dimmer functions stop.Tried both old and new dimmer system, swapping back and forth between each as well as between LED string set and 250W halogen... Same exact result every single time. 250W good, 50W LED bad. I did experiment with a few other bulbs and the threshold APPEARS to be right around 100W.... 40W plus ~50W LED string, controls stop. 60W or above plus ~50W LED string, works flawlessly. So for 2 nights I have ran the dimmer with both the LEDs and the 60W bulb, no issues at all. Hypothesis confirmed, but in the end, I don't want to have to add an incandescent or halogen bulb to get this thing to work, and adding another 50 LED lights to this will just be too much. So back they both go to Amazon. For those looking at this for 100+ LED bulbs or for just about any level of incandescent or halogen (up to 1000W of course), you will PROBABLY be ok. But for those with a moderate to small LED string setup, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Amazing product but it randomly turns on
This things works great I mixed and matched different brands of strings with 2w LEDs and 11W bulbs which I have swapped out and now have about 100 of the LEDs (6 strings I think) which work great. I needed something to light the path and my treehouse which is ~100 feet from the house, and to be able to turn off the lights after I get safely to the house. As noted by some reviews the remotes are not uniquely paired so (for instance) if your neighbors get these it will cause problems. This may be why my lights randomly turn on, usually at night and to random settings as well. I frequently get up in the morning and the lights are FLASHING which my neighbors probably do not enjoy. I tried this because my yard is longer than my wifi, so the app controlled ones would not work, but I am hoping maybe there is a setting for the RF frequency or some way to avoid bushwhacking in the dark to unplug the power so my neighbors do not suspect satanic activity.
