Review: The best purchase of my life - I’ve been a fan of Bobobo since its debut on Cartoon Network back in the day. I was searching for the anime on different streaming services but found nothing so when I saw that it had the complete series on DVD, I knew I had to get it in an instant. This was such a great purchase because not only does that come with the original dub when it premiered on Cartoon Network but it has bonus content as well so I say if you’re a fan of PEAK television, this DVD has what you’re looking for. Great characters, hilarious dialogue and most importantly 76 episodes of the greatest show of the century Review: Funny, filled with a good goofy story! - Classic Shonen style fighting anime!

Standard Definition much?
This a a welcome complete set. The entire series on two disc. It is amazing how much memory. Disc one as about 16 hours worth of episodes. 76 episodes divided into two disc. The disc art is cute. The size of the package is normal blu ray size with reversible art sleeve and glossy slip cover. Contains 5 bonus features, English and Japanese dub. Contains 40,109 total words of subtitles. A lot of hilarious reading. If your turned off by standard definition, your in for a big surprise. If you own a 4k tv, the picture covers the full screen and looks as if the anime is in high defintion. It does not look aged and the image is not zoomed or stretched out unnaturally. I have a 75 inch LG 4k tv, using out of the box picture settings. I love it. I also have a 45 inch 1080p in my room, I play the disc on my PS4 pro, the picture displays 4:3 ratio (original) so that means there are two major blocks in between the image. The picture quality feels a little upscaled but not as extreme as my 4k. Perhaps its the shows color pallet but for those turned off by Standard definition, it still looks good. Does not look blurry or faded. I collect anime that has HD and SD in the package, and the SD versions look worse than this collection. I am a big Bobobo fan. I recently completed the manga collection, however, only volume 10 to 15 were localized as Volume 1 to 5 in the USA. Also a special extra volume that remains not numbered and that feels like a one shot manga that came many years before the others. So I wanted to experience the full story and the anime is probably the best way to get the complete story or crave more Bobobo. I recommend the manga if you like excessive blood and more gags the manga can get away with. Its hilariously violent. This is a great collection. Its the perfect anime to have as background noise as well. This anime is all over the place you have to focus watch to not miss the gags xD.

A Good Buy
If your a fan of the show then this is a must have. When I first saw this I was skeptic and thought it might be something that was to good to be true, I thought it would only be a collection of episodes or something, but it has all the episodes from the show in English and Japanese Dub. So if you where a fan of the show then you should get this.

A Must-Have For Fans of the Series!
I have had this Blu-Ray on pre-order since the day after Christmas. Now that the long-awaited release has arrived, I thought I would share my thoughts on the Blu-Ray itself, and then on the show. The Pros: - The packaging is pretty cool. About standard fare for what you'd expect from a "Complete Series" anime Blu-Ray, but the art on the box still feels as if effort was put in to it, and the description on the back is rife with puns that would make the Narrator proud. The CD's are even decorated to look like Bobobo's afro! - The menus on the discs are pretty seamless. The OP version of "Wild Challenger" plays on Disc One, while "Baka Survivor" plays on Disc Two. In both cases, in transitioning from one menu to another, the songs don't freeze or start from the beginning, but play consistently. - While every episode features the Japanese version of the OP and the Japanese ending theme, regardless of which language you're watching, Disc Two features a compilation of OPs, endings, and credit-less variations thereof from the original Japanese airing, the English dub, and even the oft-forgotten English DVD run. The credit-less openings feature graphical touch-ups like the episodes, while the standalone OPs featuring credits are just as authentic to the original 2005-2007 run that I remember from when I was a kid (minus any Cartoon Network ads that might have been running along the bottom of the screen). And speaking of "graphical touch-ups"... - Bobobo has never looked better! The availability of the original 2005 English opening really highlights just how crisp and clear the art of the show is in this set! - Beyond the OPs and whatnot, Disc Two also features little featurettes from Japan, such as commercials for Bobobo video games that those of us Stateside might not have even been aware of, and an English Subbed "Meet the Characters" segment. This Blu-Ray feels less like a box set and more like an archive of any media pertaining to the Bobobo anime. - As small of a detail as it is, given "Bobobo-Bo Bo-bobo"'s penchant for giving the episodes weird names that are sometimes even completely unrelated to the plot of the episode (you tell me what you think an episode titled "Snot in My Neighborhood" is about and I'll assure you that you're wrong), it was nice of the producers of this Blu-Ray to number every episode, so that we have a way to remember where we left off/ want to rewatch without having to remember a short story of insanity. The Cons: - It's a small detail, but the back of the box refers to something called the "Margarita Empire". While this is technically a term used in certain Bobobo-related circles, the evil empire in question is known as the "Chrome Dome Empire" in the English dub. One who is unfamiliar with the show or any of the media surrounding it might read that and be confused when they never hear "Margarita Empire" anywhere in the English dub. - I wish there was a way to play all episodes on the disc without having to sit through/fast-forward through the post-episode recap, ending song, pre-episode recap, and OP. Call me lazy all you want, but it would be a nice option to have available. As for the show itself, all in all, it still holds up, and in certain instances, even lives up to the prestigious standard I've held it to since I was a child. If it's your first time watching it, and/or depending on how young you are/immature your sense of humor is, you'll be hooked by the absolute ridiculousness happening on screen. Upon the third watch-through, though, you'll begin to realize that the writing of the show gains a significant buff around episode 20-something. While the show has a consistent air of insanity and love for ripping on shonen cliches, the earlier episodes love to make silly jokes...and then try to keep said joke alive for another six minutes. It isn't like the joke ever gets any funnier, either. The ideal example I can think of is in the episode where Gasser defeats Geha the Gale with the debut of the "Fist of Back Wind". In the aftermath, Bobobo reveals that he's turned into a dorky cheetah-print dog-like humanoid wearing a skirt and a flower belt. He then says something along the lines of "Your gas was so potent, it turned me into this strange creature!", which elicited a legitimate chuckle from me, but then I had to sit through five more minutes of Bobobo being a whimpering dog-creature and everyone else standing around trying to understand what he's saying and make him feel better. The entire episode came to a significantly-sized crawl for a single joke that overstayed its welcome. And, while there are certainly funny moments in the first few episodes, be prepared for plenty of moments like that. After binging the first 15 episodes of Disc One and realizing this, I decided to switch over to Disc Two and see if the magic of Bobobo had merely worn off. It had not. The writing in the latter 50+ episodes of the show just does a better job of utilizing its ensemble cast (that - granted - wasn't really available in the first few episodes), and streamlining the witty and wacky humor consistent with the identity of Bobobo into quicker and clever...er gags that almost feel like you'll miss them if you blink at times. In short, the first 2/7ths of the show are a little slow, but if you stick around long enough to understand the "plot" and characters, you'll be rewarded with the highest-caliber stupidity that'll have your sides hurting for another 50 or so episodes. If you have any interest in Bobobo, absolutely, I recommend this Blu-Ray!

My Favorite Anime
I think it was 2005 & I stumbled across this goofy show. Little did I know this show was an anime and it would become one of my favorite pieces of media ever. So imagine how I felt when almost 15 years later, this came out. I had to buy it and let me tell you, this is a must have if you like weird, goofy humor. This Blu-Ray is amazing, all the episodes are funny whether you watched them in English or in Japanese (with English Subtitles). This is one of the greatest purchases I have made and I am very happy with what I got.

Amazing and random show I love ot! Also the Blu-ray had some cut scenes that wasn’t shown on tv. One thing to know before buying this even though if your DVD player is region free be sure that your player also can play other regions.

Got it today, but the first disc doesn't work on my Region A player. The second disc does works perfectly fine as does ALL my region A blue ray discs so this is very disappointing. So if you have a Region A Blue ray player a heads up that one of the discs might not work in it regardless.
