⚙️ Power Your Passion with Precision!
The [email protected] 17.5W Power Over Ethernet (POE) HAT is engineered for Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and Pi 3 Model B+, providing a powerful and efficient solution for powering your projects. With compliance to IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, this HAT ensures electrical isolation and stability, making it a must-have for any serious Raspberry Pi enthusiast.

Works well with Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and raspBerry Pi 4
Test the POE hat for two days. It works well both with raspberry Pi 3+ and raspberry Pi 4. It supports all the POE switches in my hand including 802.3af and 802.3at POE switches. Of course since it rates at 17.5W, if you want to use the full power capability from this POE hat you'd better stick with 802.3at (25.50 W) rather than 802.3af (12.95 W). However I think it will be fine for raspberry Pi 3+ no matter what kind of POE switch you have.I did the stress test on the 802.3at POE switch with raspberry PI 4, it passed all the tests I put in including cpuburn and some simulator game plays. During the test I hooked one keyboard, one mouse and one external 2.5' inch USB hard drive. I think the power from this POE hat is enough for all kinds of tasks for raspberry PI 4. I am very pleased with this. It did run pretty hot during stress test. If you want to do similar test or you wanna use it under heavy load, do remember adding a heat sink and/or cooling fan for you raspberry Pi.I also tested the power quality by measuring the ripple with a scope during stress test. The RMS is around 6-7mV and P-P noise is less than 100mV. I think it is good for long term use as well.Highly recommended if you want to put POE capability to your raspberry Pi 3B+ or 4. If you use your raspberry Pi as a mini-server or surveillance system it would be very useful. I think with this POE hat you have power to add a hard drive to you raspberry PI for long term use without and issue.

Plug and play, extremely reliable, smart design
Love how this PoE hat fits over the pi. Reliable, fast speeds, and >3A power rating complying with 802.11c standards; perfect for the Pi 4. Extra headers on the PoE hat allow for easy rerouting of peripherals/fans (3.3V and 5V with ground options).

No ethernet connection
This thing worked to power up a Raspberry PI 4b just fine but the ethernet port would not work most of the time. Sometimes it would come up after a couple minutes, sometimes it never would. Removing the Poe hat and using the regular power supply, the ethenet port works just fine. I was plugging this into a UniFi 8 port Poe switch rated for 60 watts. I tried everything I could find on the internet trying to reset the eth0 once it was booted up but it made no difference. I am returning this unit and going to try a different brand.

Currently the only properly built POE Hat that can fully power the Raspberry Pi 4.
This is currently the only properly built POE Hat that can fully power the Raspberry Pi 4.Among other changes, the Raspberry Pi 4 has a different power requirement than the boards that came before it. Previously, the RPi boards required 2.5A at 5V - or 12.5W or power. This worked well with 802.3af POE which delivers up to 12.95W. With the release of the RPi4 that has changed to 3A at 5V - or 15W of power. This means that you can no longer fully utilize the RPi4 when powered via existing hats that make use of 802.3af (POE). Even the official Raspberry Pi POE Hat tops out at 2.5A.This hat, however, makes use of 802.3at (POE+) and can deliver 25.5W of power to the device - making it one of the few hats capable of properly powering the Raspberry Pi 4.There are some other hats available that attempt to address this change as well - such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JQ2Z8NG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_G1D71JT674NMQQ45SCFA. However, this is the only one I've found that delivers consistent, clean power without suffering from any overheating problems. The primary improvement that I would have liked to see with this board would be to include a fan. That said, as you can see from the pictures, it sits extremely low on the RPi providing ample room for additional peripherals including a fan hat/shim.Beyond that my only other ask would have been for mounting hardware to come included. The hat sits securely on the RPi without the need for further attachment, but I still would have liked to see a couple standoffs and screws included.Overall, this is professionally built hat that is more than capable of powering the RPi 4. I would highly recommend it!

Nice way to eliminate power cables.
Works as advertised. No instructions in the box, but it’s easy enough to work out.I’ve got a k8s cluster of Pis powered by a PoE switch, and was able to eliminate a lot of the cords going to the cluster with these hats. Much cleaner now!

Great device
I bought two of these for raspberry pi 4 computers. Works great with the Poe switch. Even has power pins for extra devices like the 7inch pi screen. The device does get quite warm, so lots of ventilation or a fan would be required. Will buy again.

Fits perfectly, works as expected.
Very good quality, works for 3 years non stop.

Slows Internet Speeds to a Crawl
I have several Pi 4s and a fiber internet connection. On my other Pi 4s I see hundreds of megs per second. On the Pi I installed this on, I'm seeing 60kB/s, tops.I'm not sure what on earth causes this, but I have heard of this issue before on some PoE hats. I am not sure what the fix is, either. For me, the fix will be uninstalling the hat.I'm only giving this two stars because, if up/down speeds are not a concern, this thing works fine.
