How does the lanyard attach?

It's just a string looped into a circle. To attach it, you loop it through one of the wholes from the camera and walla... it's all attached. It is a pain if you frequently want it off and on because you have to remove the case as well.

Does this case have a screen protector?

It covers the screen, but not the sticky kind. I think it protects against scratches.
