Exactly what I was hoping for! We have two handmade hammocks from India, but have only been able to use one, as our last set of carabiners were snagging and tearing the string loops and hammock if it got too close with wind or swinging. These are lighter (so light) than our last pair, the body and hinge are both curved smooth so they don't snag or tear, and the color is true to what is advertised. The opening can fit any cord that is an inch wide, which is (drum roll please) the exact size of our hammock hook! Love that they come in a well made protective carrying bag that I can attach to the hammock before storing. As a climber, I have seen my fair share of carabiners. While I would never use this grade of biner for climbing, I know that it is very well made and will serve its hammock chilling purpose for a very long time. I will update again if necessary once it's been used for the season to report any rust or changes, but so far very happy.

I have a really nice hammock that I take on camping trips and I use all the time! I have used straps, cords and countless other anchor options but I must say having these lightweight carabiners has made my life so much easier! Setting up the hammock now consists of finding two sufficient trees and after a very short setup time I can be hanging in bliss between the two.They look great with the blue anodized aluminum. Not sure how it will hold up in time but for now they look fantastic! The carry case that comes with them is a convenient way to transport them as I can just hook it to my hammocks carry case and its all in one package. The construction of the item is very solid and can hold my 180 lbs with ease.I highly recommend getting these if, like me, love hammock camping and just need those extra pieces to make the experience a breeze.

I have a set of these carabiners in use on the lashings of my Speedway shelter and they perform perfectly. I've used them as attachments on my backpacks as well. These are not certified for climbing nor do they claim so but for any other purpose requiring a 12kN non locking gate they're perfect. Mine are 7050 aluminum blue anodized coating so they show up against either my shelters grey cloth or my black backpacks. The casting and anodized coating is smooth and thus far not peeling anywhere and they work great with the paracord I use to lash my shelter down. We get strong New England snow storms and they perform perfectly, they gave me a much faster way to secure the shelter after I park my Harley inside and close it, plus, I'm no longer fraying the paracord or tying off every time I close up. The bag is a neat feature but these will stay in service where they are for the foreseeable future. Good product and price, I will be back for more when needed

I was looking for some carabiners to attach to my backpack to increase the pack's carrying capacity, so I got this pair of Outry carabiners in the aqua color. The carabiners operate smoothly, as they should, and they also present a bit of a style with their metallic cyan paint job. There are absolutely no sharp edges to these biners, and the spring loaded gates snap into the closed position with authority. I have not tested the units under any severe loads, but I would guess they can easily hold several hundreds of pounds. However, since the kN rating is not printed/lasered/scored onto the carabiners, I would not trust them with mine, or anyone's life. Yet, they still make very useful tools on a camping trip. And, they come with a nice storage pouch.

These are a great substitute for Black Diamonds (Neurtrino's) for something like backpacking or hammocking. I have used them for setting up my normal rig (tree straps to whoopie slings, linked to a warbonnet XL) and was very happy with the fact they didn't bend, bread, the gates stayed closed, etc.I don't know that I would trust them for mountaineering without some verified/certified testing as to their weight limits and tolerances, but for something like backpacking and hammock hanging, they are an awesome choice.I am taking them out for my next hang in a couple weeks up in the snow of Mt. Baldy. I will try to update the review with pictures following it.

While the listing makes clear that they are not of a weight sufficient for climbing, they are strong enough to support a hammock or as I chose, a hanging plant. Their smooth surface keeps them from snagging on anything and their bright cheerful color made them attractive enough as a hanger. They're also useful to clip items such as water bottles and smaller bags to your backpack or other hiking gear.

These are great little Carabiners for everyday use. These work great for holding onto keys and other such objects. They can be used to hang other objects around the house or around the camp, plants, backpacks and luggage etc. I am a big guy and did test these out holding body weight. They held just fine. You could use these to hold your hammock as well if you like. Do not use these for climbing gear, they are not rated for that. I would recommend these Carabiners if your just looking for a cheap everyday set for common uses around the house or camp.

I was amazed at these little guys. I wanted to get something to replace the S Hooks that I have with my hammock straps. Too many times I get a strap around one tree and go to pull the slack and the hooks let loose. I got these to remedy the issues and they did not fail. And the fact they are light weight and can carry so much are a big plus. Definitely planning to get more to go with my camping gear.
