Astro Pneumatic Tool 1423 1/4" Heavy Duty 13" Hand Riveter

Used to replace some boat rivets. Works great. After selecting correct hole size for rivets there are additional adjustments to be made that make them work better. Pay attention to instruction and experiment with how they’re set up, it’s fairly easy. Did about 30 rivets & worked great, can’t speak to long term/high volume use, seems built well.

I just received this about an hour ago to replace the large Harbor Freight model that had the teeth stripped out trying to set a 1/4" stainless steel rivet. I put this to the same test on the fender of my Wrangler, 4 strokes later, pop, the rivet was set perfectly. This Astro riveter has a mechanical advantage, so it may take twice as many strokes, but even with 1/4" stainless steel it was effortless. Buy with confidence, like all Astro Pneumatic Tools, it works like they say and it is excellent. The smaller size is also a storage benefit.

No complaints about this riveter. It's easy to use, fairly compact, and supports a large variety of "blind" or "pop" rivet sizes and materials, though I have not tried 1/4" SS rivets. If you're looking for a high quality hand riveter that can handle larger sizes and stronger materials, look no further. The riveter is certainly optimized for versatility over speed—a trade-off for greater mechanical advantage. Thus, it may take multiple compressions of the handles to install a single rivet. If you're doing a lot of small rivets and value speed over power, this riveter may not be for you. The riveter is made in China.

Astro Pneumatic is a high quality affordable rivet tool that will get the job done. Needed a 1/4” tool to set rivets for a power window regulator repair. Takers 5-6 pumps to pop the stainless steel rivets that I used. This tool did a great job. The only issue was that the nose was not long enough to set a rivet where the window glass connects to the regulator. Used a bolt for that. Would recommend this tool for quality, price, vale and easy to use.

Good product. Worked as it should. I use it with 3/16 inch stainless steel rivets. Some of the cheaper riveters that I used could not handle the job.

Works better than any pop riveter I've ever used, and I used many in my life many with disappointment. I would buy again but I seriously doubt I will ever have to...

I'm sorry. I thought I had already left a review about the awesomeness that this riveter has. I previously had one of the riveters that you squeezed like a pair of pliers and it just refused to do the job. I had some small 3/16" stainless rivets that I needed to put in and it led to the demise of that one. I searched all over Amazon and decided that these WOULD do the job on those rivets. When I got these I was very pleased with the quality of them. I never dreamed that they would be as heavy duty as they are. I put those stainless rivets in with no problem. I then went and bought some 1/4" stainless to see if they might work on those. All I can say is that it was a piece of cake. It put those big ole rivets in easier than the small pair had put in 1/8" ones. And the price on these big ones wasn't but a couple dollars more than the small pair that I killed. That was years ago so they would probably have been as much if not more now. I guess on those I was paying for the name. I highly recommend these for anyone that needs a pair that will do the job and last for many many years. They have the heads for 4 different size rivets, 2 for the 1/4" rivets and the bottle catches the little pieces that break off so you don't end up with them in your tire. And the little wrench has it's very own place and won't come off IF you leave the bottle on. Great product.

Excellent Product at the right price, does the job with ease as long as you have enough space to work with it. Good built solid.

Sólida y potente. Como pequeño defecto, en algunas ocasiones, una vez colocado el remache el vástago se queda enganchado en el interior del aparato, y hay que desmontar el cabezal para exrtraerlo. No és complicado, pero resulta un tanto molesto

I was doing some gutter down pipe riveting with a normal 250 mm size hand riveter with 4.8 mm diameter aluminium rivets and it was a real challenge with just one had. Ordered the Astro riveter to complete the job and the contrast was amazing. It handled the 4.8 mm diameter rivets perfectly. Really a great tool for larger jobs. The bottle for catching the rivet pins after riveting is very useful.

Interesting riveter that works better than my handheld one, however can be limiting in tight spaces. The hand riveter can also be limiting in tight spaces so depending on where you need the rivet to go, you may need both which is why I ordered this one. This one is much more heavy duty then my handheld riveter, and seems like you can hold the rivet better in place to ensure the rivet is pulling in a straight and linear fashion. Really like the bottle to catch the pins, saves a lot of hassle from cleaning them up after a job. Nice little wrench so you can tighten the heads down properly during changes.
