Great value light/shirt bar
I bought this bar for my daughter who needed a lighter weight Olympic size bar as she gets stronger, but struggled still with the 45lb bar. After looking at one that was a longer length and 15 lbs at over twice the price, I decided to give this 5ft, 25lb bar a go and I am very pleased I did.She loves it and I find myself using it as well.It is very sturdy and feels like a standard Oly bar, albeit shorter. If you are a large adult who uses a very wide grip for snatches or overhead squats, you may have issues with the length but I am 5’8 and my adult training partner is 5’10 and we go wide and it feels great. It arrived with a few scratches and dings, but otherwise no issues. That is just shipping nowadays and it is a testament to how sturdy this bar is.I definitely recommend.

Still new to weight training
I love this bar, have had no issues with it whatsoever - granted, I’m only loading 150 pounds on it at the moment, though. My CAP plates slide right on and the clips hold them snugly in place. My previous set was a cheap 1 inch bar that held forty pounds of weights with screw on bolts. The clunking of the weights with the new bar and clips did take some getting used to, along with the feeling of the weights ‘slipping’ a tad when lifting from the floor, but the transition period was very brief. Now, I love the flexibility - it feels like the bar is a fluid extension, not an immovable object I’m awkwardly trying to lift or push or bridge. And there is something so satisfying about hearing that heavy metallic ‘chunk’ when you lift the bar!As many others have mentioned, the packaging is crap - mine came wrapped in plastic and most of the cardboard tubing around it had been ripped away. The UPS guy just tossed it on the porch - I heard it hit from the back of the house. But there were only minor scratches, and I don’t care anyway - it’s a tool that’s going to get banged up anyway. The bar does shed a little, but my sister (who most definitely is not a novice) says this is normal, and that my bar sheds less than she’s seen with others. Again, I’m not loading much weight, so the little flakes I vacuum up with the rest of the weekly dirt don’t bother me.All in all, I’m very happy with my purchase. I even ordered the four foot bar, to use for rows, mostly. I’m only five-six and the five foot bar is a little unwieldy for me right now.

Great for deadlift
I've had this bar for 4 years. I bought it for deadlifts. I liked having a compact area that could be dedicated to deadlifts, and I built a small barbell jack specifically for this bar. I'm not crazy strong, but it handles three 45s on each side just fine, and is super rigid. In fact, when I started doing deadlifts with a 7 foot bar in the backyard, I found I was way stronger. The reason is because the bar flexes much more on the longer bars, so the flex allows you to pull more weight than this little bar. I'd suggest training with a small bar like this if you're really after more strength. Or you could just do deficit lifts with a 7 foot bar and accomplish virtually the same thing. Overall, very pleased with the bar. I set the barbell down, every rep, never dropping it. I use iron plates, lifting directly on concrete. If you drop this bar, with or without bumpers, I don't know how it'll handle it. Likely, not well.

Short but it works
Solid piece and a good addition to my home gym. Package arrived torn and kinda messed up, but the bar itself was just fine. It's 5 feet, which is good for my small space and fits my rack just fine. (I would recommend measuring your setup to make sure it will work.) I have noticed it's painted black, which is a slight drawback because it could chip in the future, but that's a minor concern imo. It's a cheap bar but it will work just fine for my needs, so I'm happy.

Perfect bar and perfect condition
Perfect bar for my home gym. It said I would get it in two weeks it came way earlier. No rust, no damage, the box was torn but the bar is in perfect condition. I can’t wait to use it for arm curls. I wanted the shorter bar because the 7ft bar is too big for curling. If you’re looking for a short bar for a great price buy this one. I was a little hesitant because of some of the other reviews but I couldn’t resist taking a chance because of the price. I’m glad I did. I will definately consider cap products when shopping on here you have gained a new customer.

Perfect for my use
I too was quite concerned when I read the negative reviews on this. It arrived via FexEx packaged in a cardboard tube that had split open in the middle. I was concerned that it may have been damaged, but when I took it out it was fine.As some people say there is a small amount of play in the very ends of the 2" bushings that hold the weights. To me it is not at all objectionable. The bushings turn fine but they are not "Ball Bearing Quality"All I wanted was a bar so I could lift some weights at home. I'm actually going to buy another one for my wife.If you are a pro weight lifter I can assure you these are not "Gold's Gym" quality. If you are a hack that wants to do a weight lifting routine at home they are perfect.

Excellent
Im using as a landmine barbell and for curls. It's about 25 pounds. I really like it for the price and for what I'm using it for. It's not expensive bar but its excellent value. Doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. The knurling feels good in hand too. Definitely a good buy for space saving movements.

Bar is good for price
I got this bar todayPositives:It looks good. I attached 25 lbs weights and did some clean and jerks and no problems. The sleeves do rotate unlike others mentioned that they dont. Rotation is smooth as well but not like sleeves will rotate like a fidget spinner. You can easily do cleans and other crossfit movements with this bar.Negatives:The grip on this bar is really bad. it can easily slip off your hand so be careful. also sleeves have no grip to keep holding weights. the weights slip off barbell very easily. If you are buying clamps for this barbell then get ones with good rubber grip inside. metal clamps will just slip off. You cant throw this barbell because no grip on sleeves. When you rotate sleeves they make sound like there are tiny metal shavings left inside.

Exactly what it says
This is exactly what I needed. It is sturdy, has standard 2 inch diameter bars for olympic weight. It's only about 5 feet long so if you have a small space that is now your home gym, it's perfect!
