I purchased the 1/2” size and followed instructions to wash the glass first. We put the glass in a bucket and poured water in then because we have hard water, and it could make calcium spost, but we did a final rinse with bottled water. ( we have a reverse osmosis system, so that is the water we used ). We have not used this with fire yet, so we cannot comment on whether it snaps when fire hits it.

Perfect for my glass n resin projects! It does have a slight aqua tint but will be fine , the size is perfect!

What you are seeing is a before and after. Dark dreary before, and a wash and beautiful blue glass afterward. This high quality glass in such a small space really makes this fireplace the focal point of our home. The glass was easy to open and install and the heat output vs the lava rocks is hands down much better. Highly recommend this brand of glass and any color you choose! I will buy again for my outdoor fireplace when I build it .

I used both sizes. 20 lbs total on top of silica sand.
