Fits Troy-bilt TB-130 with Honda engine
If you've been looking for a blade adapter (1") that fits your Honda engine mounted on your Troy-bilt TB-130 lawn mower, this is what finally worked on mine. It's hard with alot of these bogus item descriptions to know what really fits and what doesn't. This review is for the replacement part for OEM Part# 748-04096.Can't comment on the durability yet since I just installed it. This item also did not come with a bolt or blade bell support washer (that diamond shaped thing). Since my existing bolt sheared off and blade adapter cracked, I picked up a steel replacement bolt at a local hardware store and re-used the support washer. If you have a hard time removing your existing blade adapter from the motor shaft, I used a gear puller tool (bought on amazon) and it came off without alot of drama.Overall - glad I found a blade adapter that actually fit, even though many claim to fit you will find from reviews that it can be a crapshoot. Quality seems decent even though the casting doesn't look perfectly precise. Glad to have another DIY repair under my belt so I can get back to cutting the grass.

Great adapter! Made of flimsy metal INTENTIONALLY!! (Read the engineering)
I ran over a rock and the notch on my old adapter sheared off as expected. Replaced with this one and back to mowing again.FYI, some people here complain about the fact that this part is made of a poor quality metal which is INTENTIONAL. You have to understand why you need this adapter - This adapter is a safeguard mechanism and is INTENDED TO BREAK. It is intentionally made of a weak metal so it breaks when you hit a rock. Let me explain the engineering here:In the old days and in cheap mowers the blade connects to the shaft directly so if you hit a rock the blade stops but the shaft is still spinning with the motor so something has to give and the shaft gives and bends. Replacing the shaft on the motor will probably cost about the same as replacing the mower. At this point you’d throw out the mower unless you’re really handy and are comfortable disassembling and reassembling the motor. The newer and fancier mowers have this or similar adapter that connects the blade to the shaft. If you hit a rock, the blade immediately stops and again something has to give. This is where the brilliant design comes in - this adapter made of soft metal gives and breaks leaving your shaft straight. You replace the broken adapter and you’re back to mowing. $15 and 15 minutes of work compared to buying a whole new mower. This is why this adapter is made of a flimsy metal - it is designed to break so your shaft stays straight and your mower keeps working after you hit a rock or your blade suddenly stops due to some obstacle.

Finally the right size!
I ordered another adapter from a different company and it was the wrong size. After reading reviews on this one I was concerned I would have the same problem. It wasn't! It was in fact the 25mm. I'm guessing newer mowers now take the smaller version, I think it's 22 or 23mm so finding one that was 25mm was a little tougher. Installed it today and it's perfect! Installed the new blade and changed the oil and we're good to go! I did pay extra to get it faster and it didn't come any faster than if I hadn't paid the extra, which kind of annoyed me. After seeing the label on the package, it's not a wonder UPS had a hard time delivering it. Shipper might want to consider using a small box instead of just a plastic envelope. Or a little bigger padded envelope. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Everything needed and more...
This was exactly what I needed. In fact, it was more than advertised. The item should be labeled MTD Service Kit. When ordered, you will receive a Blade Adapter (as pictured in the Amazon ad), Spring Blade Adapter Washer, Bolt and Instruction Sheet. If this were clear, I wouldn't have ordered everything individually; MTD 736-0524B Bell Blade Support (Washer) and a 3/8"-24 X 1.5" (Bolt). The purchased items from the KIT fit perfectly. Together with the "Washer" and Bolt, I got the mower back on line in a flash. This is solid steel, very heavy, good quality, OEM parts. BTW, for you DIY-ers, I recommend to use some anti-seize compound when installing. On delivery, this item did not ship quickly. I'm new to Amazon Prime and thought that it was advertised as a Prime item. It did not ship in 2 days - buyer beware.

Not 25 mm inside diameter, and poor workmanship to boot
This item came in a plastic bag with a label on it indicating it is part B00Y0I7ZHE, which is the ASIN given in the Amazon listing for this part, and the label also says "MTD Replacement Part Blade 25mm Adapter" and "NewItem"; so it appears I received what I ordered. But the part I received does NOT have a 25 mm inside diameter as advertised, to fit on a 25 mm diameter motor shaft, like the MTD OEM Part Number 748-04096 is supposed to have. Instead, the inside diameter is about 23 mm, or close to 7/8". See photos. That makes this part useless to me (or anyone else looking for an adapter for a 25 mm/1" diameter shaft). Very frustrating after reading a bunch of product listings on Amazon to find this one.In addition, the uppermost part of the key appears to be sheared-off (compare my photo to the one with the Amazon product listing), and this part also has kind of a turned-over edge at the top of the hole. (I didn't attempt to file or grind-down that edge, because even without it the inside diameter would still be less than 25 mm). Totally unacceptable for a $20 casting.
