The lovely fabric feels soft. It doesn't look flimsy or cheap. I love it!

This is an elegant table runner. It is velvet on one side with nice trim; however, it can be reversible and on the other side is a light plain gray fabric. The velvet tends to leave marks when something is placed on it and then removed; however, just put in the dryer for a few minutes brings it back to the original look.
