Dad review. We have leather seats and as I removed our first, now-too-small carseat; I was horrified at the (probably) permanent indentations the old carseat base left in the leather. Immediately purchased this item with our larger carseat, (diono rxt. Very, very heavy.) and was relieved how protected the seat felt with this covering before I installed the rxt. Time will tell if it works, but it's weighty, sleek, and has a mesh multi-pouch that hangs over the seat edge for... travel wipes? A diaper? An 8-page baby book? I dunno. They're thin; slots almost. They don't give much, but I didn't buy a seat protector for accessory storage so it's a cool surprise. Will definitely buy again for carseat #2 in a few months.

We previously had the Summer Infant DuoMat seat protectors for our Chicco infant carseat. When we had to move up in carseat size, we discovered those mats weren't compatible with our Diono Radian because the fabric connecting the two portions of the mat were too wide for the feet of the detachable base when the Diono Radian is installed rear-facing. It turns our this was a blessing in disguise because the Diono Ultra Mat is a superior product. The material isn't as cheap feeling, it secures to the seat much more easily (I'm talking about that weighted portion that you jam between the seat) and -- best of all -- there is an adjustable strap that secures the mat to the seat headrest, thereby preventing the mat from slipping down (and protecting our seats from energetic, kicking baby feet). The top portion of the Summer Infant DuoMat never stayed up so my son's shoes could touch the seat. Like the Summer Infant DuoMat, the Diono Ultra Mat also has a little mesh bag that hangs below the car seat. We don't store anything in it but the Diono mesh bag does seem bigger than the Summer Infant one. I wish we would have bought the Diono Ultra Mat initially.

Easy to install and easy to clean, just wipe down. Excellent seat protection from spills and car seat marks. The only thing I’d point out is that the pouches to hold things are neat in theory but when your child is strapped into their car seat they can’t reach the pockets to grab anything. Other than that very happy.

We have used these in several vehicles since our daughter was born with our Orbit Baby G3 base/carseats, as well as our Maxi Cosi Pria 85, and they do a great job! We have black leather in all of our vehicles and used to have a truck with adobe colored leather, and these do the job on both types. The first few of these I purchased had a cool little UV heat shield built into the bottom of it, so you could pull it up over the carseat in the summer heat. However, my daughter was quite the puker for her first year of life, and I could never get the smell of puke out of these no matter how hard I tried, so when I went to replace them, I was sad to see that these don't have that heat shield. These do have little storage pockets which are handy, but no zipper pocket like the other ones did. As a side note, sometimes our seats do have a little dent in them when we take out the mat and base/carseat, however, that small dent goes away overnight, so it's no big deal. They definitely keep our seats from being damaged!

The quality is great and I love that it really protects the seat. Especially when rear facing.

I bought these to protect the leather seats in my car when using the grandkids car seats. They install/uninstall easily, are wider than the car seat base, and fit great. They look better and are more durable than using a towel under the car seats. Cleaning is a breeze - just wipe off.

Have used these in multiple vehicles to protect the seats from the car seats themselves. Also great for keeping messes from the kiddos off the actual seat. Great and easy to use.

So good I now own 2! I was ecstatic when I discovered this product existed as I'd been protecting my brand new leather upholstery using a fluffy towel but the towel kept sliding about and wasn't much use. Now we have switched the the next stage of car seat and my daughter is older the base, child and seat is more weight pressing on the chair so I'm sure this mat is saving me a lot of grief! Handy pockets on the bottom too. I've had my first mat a few months but they are so good and reasonably priced I bought a second for my other back passenger seat for when my friend's child travels with us. They were worried about strapping their car seat in too tight for fear of damaging my leather seats, to which I said forget it safety first strap it in! But now since he is a regular traveler in my car they won't have to worry about ruining my seat with this second mat beneath his seat. And more pockets! More storage in a car with kids is a plus.
