Absolute BEAST of a Stove! The best upgrade of all time to our hunting cabin!
We have been running a "Franklin" style stove at my father's hunting cabin for decades and I finally convinced him to invest in something more efficient & would put out more heat. The cabin is a huge "pole barn" or "gambrel style" 2 story w/attic crawl space and this thing will heat the entire place to 70*F in one day in the dead of winter in northern MI. No more smoky smell getting into our clothes and whatnot and the best thing is not having to constantly put a log on the fire to keep it going overnight. Simply load up the firebox before bed and let it get super-hot then turn down the internal flue to minimum and it will burn clean wood for 6+ hours without needing to be tended to.* I purchased the optional blower & auto temp switch which is powered by regular 110-120v so we can supercharge the heat dissipation while our gas generator is running in the evenings. I definitely recommend that upgrade.* It is very heavy and will require 2 grown men to move it but 3 would be optimal.(Pros)-Super long burn-times, almost overnight.-Puts out a crazy amount of heat, especially with the optional blower.-EPA certified so it barely produces any smoke out of the chimney.-I love the handle being mounted on the left vs. the right on the HT2000.-Creates very little ash and a breeze when cleaning up the firebox.-Coals stay so hot that even when the stove goes empty, it will re-fire when a fresh log is put in.-Gorgeous design throughout w/ a nice easy to clean window on the door.(Cons: And these aren't really cons, just advice)1) This thing will suck all the humidity out of the air when going full blast within a few hours. Even with an on-top stove steamer/kettle, the RH% (shoot for 40ish) cannot keep up with the heat output. If you are like me and are prone to nose-bleeds in dry climates, you may want to put a humidifier somewhere close by.2) The door handle can (and will) get very hot at the stem so you need to be careful not to grab the entire knob, just the outermost section...and use a glove when opening or you could burn your hand.3) Very easy to get hot FAST, make sure you have a magnetic temp gauge on your exhaust pipe around 18" above the stoves top base to know when to lower the internal flue to prevent an over-fire. Absolute must have.4) It took a few nights in the fall to fully bake the stoves paint in place and it will smoke/fume and give off a smell, I suggest opening all the windows and let it do its thing as it eventually will cure and go away.I could not be more happier with our purchase, this thing is simply awesome! There is a reason it has a near 100% positive review rating, plus its EPA approved so you get a $300 tax credit at the end of the year if you claim it when filing your tax return.

This is a great wood stove
Huge firebox. Did the first 2 "small" burns to cure paint, expect some smoke and fumes, but the arm full of kindling and some small pieces of wood burnt for 4 hrs. The same amount in our old stove would have been ash in an hour

Highly Efficient and Well Constructed
This stove is amazing and efficient. We replaced a Joutal Fire Light 12 and have cut our wood consumption 40%. Heating a log home around 2000 Sq ft and we are toasty warm. We are filling stove twice a day with plenty of hot coals in the morning to restart. Easy to clean using ash pan. Built a plug remover from old fire place utensil shaft (picture ). Had to plug secondary air intake (picture) in ash pan compartment and stove burns at 320* on low setting air intake. Large ash pan and have a battery hand vacuum to clean up after loading with very little mess. Able to increase heat output tp 500 /600* with air intake adjustment. Received a free blower from Drolet with purchase which was shipped immediately after applying for it online. Truly a great stove!!!

Buy it, you won’t regret it!
This wood stove is an excellent value. I have it in our 1000sqft living area in our basement where it easily heats it to 65-72 degrees consistently overnight; as a result this also heats out 1500sqft upper floor decently, but the furnace does kick on occasionally. Burn times have been excellent - I’ve had several 12 hour burns from a full stock up before bed and plenty of hot coals to relight logs the following day. If you’re on the fence about purchasing this, don’t even think twice. Our technician that installed it was very impressed with the build quality. Only downside is the spiral metal handles do get hot to the touch, and also it’s easy to eat wood with how big the fire box is. Hard not to keep throwing more in there to continue seeing the flames!

Its burns very clean...
I have burning wood for the last 35 years. I had the same stove almost the same amount of time.It was great for quite some time then it started to creosote the chimney up real bad. Had a few small chimney fires. I got them out real easy . so i quit burning it for a couple of years. I started doing research on new stoves and found the drolet had really really good reviewes. I like how it burns , theirs hardly no creosote in the chimney at all. I cleaned my chimney only twice last winter and its still clean. Aweome job on the performance of this stove, I love it....

Super burn times!
Stove came yellow freight to the roadside. But the semi driver was nice enough to pull into the drive and unloaded on my side walk. This stove takes a little getting used to of you are a conventional wood burner. The ambiance is awesome, like a fireplace. It heats as well as my old box stove with less wood. I have a drafty house so any cold is my own fault not the stoves. Exceptional burn times unless you want it really hot. To get it started you need to leave the door open for awhile until it's really burning. Watch out for the baffles on top of the fire box...don't just force in logs. Definitely watch the coals coming out...you need good floor protection. There is a ash dump. I just lift the plug with the fire poker and rake in, or shovel directly into the ash bucket.Over all very happy with my purchase.

Really good stove
We looked at several name brand wood stoves that were of a hefty price and of questionable quality. After reading reviews on the drolet we decided to take a chance on buying it, so glad we did! It is the best wood stove we've ever owned. Drafts really good, huge fire box, glass stays clean, awesome heat output with NO blower. Was delivered right to our door in a well constructed wood crate. Took husband and 2 teenage boys to get it up a few steps and into living room. Very happy with this purchase!
