These are the Amazon Basics 8-Pack 9V Alkaline Batteries, and once again, they do exactly what they’re supposed to do — quietly and without fuss. They power the things that need 9V batteries (smoke alarms, gadgets that beep ominously when they’re low, etc.), and they do it reliably. No early failures, no nonsense, and noticeably cheaper than the branded equivalents. If you need 9V batteries and don’t want to overthink it, these are an easy win. For use in my active bass guitar. Not yet sure of the longevity of these whilst in use, but so far seem to be fine. The problem is one of trust. I have always used more expensive black/copper brand, but the cost of them is becoming excessive, so though I'd give these a shot. Sadly, they havn't improved my bass playing though:)

Purchased for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms - perfect for the job. Will replace annually for safety reasons so cannot comment on longevity in other possibly higher drain appliances.

I bought this four-pack of 9V batteries based on the good reviews and reasonable price. It’s worth noting that unlike the AA and AAA batteries in the Amazon Basics brand range, the 9V type does not have a 10-year shelf life, but 5 years. This means if you do not need to use all of them immediately, they can be stored and should be fine within this time period, so they’re good to put in that drawer with the dried-out pens, mystery keys, rubber bands, and a lonely straw. They are not rechargeable, and it’s advised not to place them in wheelie bins in the UK due to safety and toxicity concerns, so I try to remember to take any old ones to my supermarket, which has a battery-bin. Out of the packet, I checked each one with a battery tester and all showed full power. I then tested them between my devices, although they don’t all need new batteries yet: All good so far. -Pros: • Good value for money • Trusted brand • 5-year shelf life • Good longevity (I’ve used them in the past) • Correct size/ease of installation • No leakage -Cons: • Not rechargeable Overall, I’ve had a good experience with this brand of batteries over time, and it’s always a bonus to save some money.
