Suze Orman's Action Plan: New Rules for New Times

I found this book very helpful. You can read it cover to cover or just read the sections that you need guidance on. I found it helpful that she has taken the current situation of the economy and made very easy clear guidelines to apply to my own financial situation. Her description of how to prioritize where my scarce money goes to make my family's financial picture more secure was wonderful.

I would recommend this book to anyone over 12. Whether your looking to college, or looking for semi comprehensive retirement advise for any age, this book is for you. I'd love it if I could call it common sense, but this is very uncommon for a vast number of Americans, myself included. Easy to read, but it's going to take a lifetime of effort to implement...Happily, thanks Suze!

Considering how cheap this book is and how old it is I was a bit concerned that book would not really have much value. In addition, as someone with an MBA in finance I questioned if there was much I didn't know.This book is an easy read and provides a little something regardless of what stagger of life you are in. It tall ls about how to maximize on your retirement ams why you should roll over old 401k into IRAs after you leave the employer. It even addresses debt collectors. As someone with a n 805 fico I saw no need for this part but while reading this book I received a call from a debt collector for medical bills I already paid and had cleared check receipts from my bank to prove. Suze's book walked me through how to deal with the situation and my rights.Rated 4 stars because in some sections of the book she failed to provide a rational (on the more complex topics. Ex. How interest rates affect your bond investments).

I have read Suze's previous book and they were fantastic! This books gives up updated info in the new economy. This book and Suze's previous books have been instrumental in me taking charge of my financial life. My parents never taught me any of the sound advise in this book. I immediately purchased it for both my daughters and told them this was my greatest gift to them, financial independence. I just got my will and trust kit, having followed all the previous months advise. If you take the time to follow the advise in this book you will be miles ahead of everyone in planning a secure future.

I'm a fan of Suze Orman's but was disappointed in this book. Although the title says "new rules for new times," there's nothing new here from her. If you watch her show or are familiar with any of her advice, this book won't have new insights. She even mentions many times in the book that her answer to the scenario listed isn't different from the smart advice she's always provided.If you are new to thoughtful financial decisions, this book will probably be helpful - hence why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. It gives straightforward basic responses to various scenarios.

People nowadays have no clue how to manage their money.Suze Orman knows how to make this confusing subject SIMPLE, and understandable to regular folks , who doesn't have a background in finances or accounting.This should be a book taught to everybody in their teens or even earlier.It covers all basics - Spending, Saving, Retirement, Handling debt etc.I have both versions - kindle version and paperback, so I can read it anywhere and write comments on it.The book is worth many times more than they charge for it.It is priceless!

I like it! I don't have 13 words to say & I don't see why its mandatory to have a lot to say about MY purchases ~ either I like it or don't like it ~ why do I have to write a book? why don't you simply put a brief description in the headliner or summary ~ you should be trying to make it easier for clients to want to leave feedback ~ this is to much work!

Great overall summary of all financial planning for retirement, financing children's education, teaching children about finances, and advising on home equity line of credit loans. I think everyone with the above financial questions would benefit from this book.

It’s a great book

Ok so some of the things do not relate to us in the UK but the art of saving and how to do it makes perfect sensein fact its quite clear to see how you can have money in the states and how hard it really is in the UK.

After reading her column in the O Magazine by Oprah Winfrey, I really expected more from this book. But I ended up seeing things I already knew in a happy dynamic tone. I didn't find information that was a new learning experience. I was a bit disappointed.
