Gamer Tested, Comfortable Chair For Anyone!
I was in the market for a new office chair for quite awhile when I stumbled upon the Vertagear Racing Series SL4000 Black/White. I previously was considering the Office Master OM5 but could not justify the outrangous asking price for the comfort I wanted. As of the writing of this review, I've owned it for approximately 1 month.PROS:The chair arrived in a huge box with plenty of foam packing surrounding it. Plan on at least two people to move this thing before unpacking because the box is HUGE.The chair is very comfortable considering it is made out of PVC Leather. The lumber pillow and the head pillow are very comfortable too, and are completely optional. Sitting in the chair for hours on end is not an issue while playing games or just simple home office work. I love the adjustable height for the arms and the fact that they have 4 way adjustment horizontally. The chair does tilt and fully recline to completely horizontal, but I have not had a need to use either function. I imagine if I had a footrest, I could probably nap in it!CONS:The plastic that covers the cylinder for height adjustment is somewhat cheap and could be of better quality considering the price of the chair at $339.When I first unpacked the box the chair came in, I noticed that the reclining lever was slightly damaged on it's plastic handle cover when I received it. However, it did not detract from it's function, so I'm not returning the chair at this point. I hope that Vertagear corrects this issue in future chairs that are produced, because it is disappointing that such a small flaw happened in either shipping the chair or it's manufacture.Assembly of the chair was very easy until putting the back onto the seat. This was due to the fact that the mounting points are were incredibly hard to line up with the provided screws and washers.VALUE:Price wise, this is a decent chair despite the difficult assembly process and the minor damage on the reclining lever. Sitting in a comfortable chair was a necessity to me because I am on my home computer all the time. If you are in the market for a good chair, then look no further. This is a very comfortable chair for anyone.UPDATE (11/22/2015): I had one of the plastic covers for the seatback hinge break at the point where it is screwed into the seatback itself. It must be made of cheap plastic for it to break like that. I've contacted Vertagear in order to get a replacement.

Great design with minor overlooks.
Overall, I've grown to really like this chair. This chair has taken some time to get used to, but that's mostly because it's also my first "racing chair." At nearly $350, I was expecting to immediately be impressed with how comfortable it is, but I wasn't. However, after a small amount of time, I've realized its more that my sitting posture was bad and it wasn't the chair. I have not had back pain for over 3 weeks now, and the chair has everything to do with that considering how much time I spend in it every day.The build quality of the chair itself is outstanding. It was everything I expected at this price point plus a little more. However there are a few small issues and one minor issue that required me to take off a star.1. The provided screws and tool to assemble. The provided Allen wrench style tool did not fit half the screws provided very well. Luckily I had a set of Allen's and was able to make this work regardless. Very minor issue, but could be an annoyance to some that don't own other tools.2. Some people have mentioned it, but the side bolsters on the seat do not have much padding before your legs are sitting on structure. Luckily, I read a review about this before purchasing and triple checked my seating width to the specified seating width provided from the manufacturer. I knew it would be a tight fit, but it was a lot tighter than expected. It has given me zero problems, but I know for a fact If I were to gain 10lbs this seat would start to be very uncomfortable. Maybe that's a positive incentive?3. The provided wheels. Although they look very good, and are very smooth, these wheels are disappointing. Granted, I know my problems would not exist if I wasn't using the chair on carpet, but I am. The way these wheels are designed, if used on carpet, they will deteriorate and start falling apart. I've actually replaced them with some other wheels at a very affordable fix, but it shouldn't have been an issue at this price range. If anyone reading this would like further information, I can provide on request.9/10 would recommend this chair, if you're my size or smaller. Anyone larger I would recommend checking out Vertagear's larger seat bottom lines. For reference, I am 6'-0" 178lbs

Buyer Beware!
I've never heard of a chair falling apart as poorly as mine has. I've had this for about 5 weeks now (past the Amazon return period - how convenient), and it's began disappointing more and more as time goes on.Vertagear themselves have been helpful in offering replacement parts. To date I've needed the following:A new lower seatA new right side arm(2) New WheelsThe arm is not perfectly 90 degrees vertical, which alters it's height compared to the left arm which is perfectly 90. Annoying, but functional. The seat is unevenly stitched, and for nearly $350, I expect a bit better of a presentation than what I received. Annoying, but functional.A week ago a set of wheels split in half at the hub, and are constantly falling out. Just today a 2nd set of wheels is doing the same thing.Unfortunately my experienced has made me question the longevity of the 3 other wheels...and if this is going to be a constant battle on receiving replacement parts from Vertagear. For a $350 chair to last 3 weeks without issues is unfortunate, considering I've had an Office Depot generic chair for over 5 years and it has not fallen apart for no reason.

Poor quality chair, don't expect much
Update: After less than a year (8-9 months), with out ever having placed any sharp objects or cleaners on the chair, there is a split in the seat fabric that is rapidly growing (currently at ~2 inches). My previous chair from Walmart lasted almost 5 years before the fabric went, and cost me half the price.Product’s white backrest (top part of the chair) came in a bag full of rust powder that dyed portions of the white leather and threads an ugly brownish color. Due to the weight and hassle, I can’t be bothered to even ask to send it back, so I’m stuck with it.Chair itself is comfortable but it took some used to actually sitting up properly, as it’s a lot harder to slouch in than my previous chair.Tilt back feature is nice, but would be nicer if the chair actually locked in the back position. I’ve had a much cheaper chair in the past with that feature.

Guter Gaming Chair
