I bought this as a gift for my husband who cares for your micro-apiary as a replacement for his old beekeeping journal (which only had a few pages left).I was pleasantly surprised when it came in.OVERALL IMPRESSIONI don't know much about the company that created this, but it feels like they have some "love" for what they do and produce. It seemed thoughtfully-designed and crafted.If you (or someone you know) is into bees - this is a great journal. If they are into something else, if I remember right, this company had some different cover options that might be better.THE COVERWhile not rigid like cardboard, had a luxurious feel to it - sort of like a leathery-suede.Nice design (we like bees so...) including debossingAlthough not a "hardback", feels durableTHE PAPERTypical weight, space between lines sized well for typical journaling (not too wide or narrow)Smooth, less "porous" (not sure how to say this, but some papers "break ink" up more because of a 'texture')Has a bit of color (not bright white) which is probably more a design thing (compliments cover)I hope the information in this review helped. Best journal ever. Flexible, lays flat, can be rolled up. The pages are large and I can write for days. I bought this journal in March of 2014, and it is still my favorite. I now have a few different journals that are just link this one. This gray, one with a green cover and one with a black cover. Seriously obsessed. I am writing this review because I have filled this journal and I am wanting to purchase another one. I am really pleased!

This is my initial impression review. The journal is the perfect size if you don’t want to flip pages every three seconds. The pages are thick enough that there is no ghosting with a regular black ink pen- not sure about rollers or wetter inks yet. It has a lot of pages so it will keep me going for awhile and lays flat while you’re writing which is helpful. The only thing I don’t love is that the front and back covers are made of a pretty thin cardboard. If it were faux leather or suede it would be much sturdier but it’s not enough to dock a star. Will update if anything changes!

This 8x10 journal is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a nature-themed journal that was big enough to fit illustrations and printouts, as well as plenty of hand written material as I am studying herbalism.It’s hard to tell, but some of the stems/flowers are indented into the cover and it makes the pattern that much more beautiful! The inside color is a light pink color, it is less orange than the picture shows. The cover is soft, so the journal is flexible. It’s the kind of material where if you scratched it with your finger nail or pen, it would indent into it -which is why I gave it less stars in the durability category. This doesn’t personally bother me or take away from me liking it as it’s pretty special to me so I’m keeping it safe. There is a green ribbon to keep your place.This is just an overall adorable journal and this pattern stands out from the rest because of my love for nature!

I have been journaling daily for over 30 years. When I could no longer find the cloth-bound 384-page journals I discovered the Eccolo desk size (254 page) journals. I usually get black or brown, but saw this honey-comb cover and thought I'd give it a try. It is not as flexible as the brown and black imitation leather covers, so I'm still adjusting. Suits me well, but a little different from the others.

This is my sixth journal and I love the size and design of the cover - I ordered the bumblebee. I really wanted something that lies flat and this one works well.My only complaint would be there’s only one ribbon - seems the extent the designer went to to create a beautiful book with so many pages that a second ribbon would be obvious to incorporate... Nevertheless, I love the wide selection of cover designs and will return when I’m looking for a journal as a gift or ready for a second book myself.

Love everything about this notebook. Exceeded my expectations, lined pages, quality paper. When I opened the package, I was immediately blown away, the cover of the notebook is so beautiful, I highly recommend if you are looking for a large notebook. I will be purchasing another notebook.

This is my favorite go-to journal. The book stays open when you write, and closes completely afterwards. The quality of the book is fantastic, and I have purchased several so I don't run out. There are other books just like it with different quotes on as well. I HIGHLY recommend this!Lines inside are college ruled. I also like the satin ribbon that is attached that you can use as a bookmark.

I have used this product for over 5yrs now and this is my 5th book and product from China is not a good quality paper. I have used same product Made in Taiwan and the paper quality is superb. This time around i have the Turkey made product and yet to see how good it will be. I use fountain pens therefore smoothness of the paper is fundamental. I hope the Ecollo team is reading such reviews!

I love these notebooks. They used to sell them at Indigo, Chapters and sometimes Papyrus, but haven't been as readily available in the last year or so. I've ordered 2 on separate occassions and sadly both of them came damaged. The book was squished and the cover bent a bit. Also this black one has different paper than the other Eccolo notebooks this size- so I wouldn't recommend this one.

I liked that the book lays fairly flat when open. Find that uncommon unless it’s a spiral bound notebook, so you can look at your notes while typing, or not lose your page if you have to run off to do something else. Beautiful design makes it suitable to any occasion.

I love the look and softness of the cover. The pages are nice to write on. Overall great notebook.

This is a great quality, well structured notebook. I am very particular about the feel of the cover and pages and this checks off every box!
