Things you need to know....
....if this is your first Eco Drive watch. I had an absolute horrible time getting this thing going because I didn't know one thing..... When you pull it out of the box you need to put it in the direct sun for about two hours. I got a returned watch that was missing the instruction book. Was not happy about that but it is online. Here are my tips to help you.1. The watch will do absolutely nothing until you sit it in the sun for a few hours. I was so bummed. I pulled it out of the box and all the button pushing in the world will do nothing until it has power. Makes perfect sence but since the last person did not return the instruction manual I did not know this.2. Eventually it will start moving the second hand in 2 second jumps. That tells you it does work and is low on power. Keep it in the sun for an hour after it starts to move in 1 second intervals and you can then play with it.3. Look for a video on how to take a link out. There are arrows on the band and the pin needs to come out and in a certain way. You can literately screw this up if you don't do it right because the pins are tapered.4. I used the app to register the watch. Do this because some reviews say the crown will pop out sometimes and you need the warranty. Some things you can blow off the warranty but not on watches. All in all the other peoples pictures are spot on so I don't need to add more but I weigh 230 pounds and my arm is a bit larger than most. This is a 42mm band and it looks just a bit small on my arm. A 43mm or 44mm would look a bit better on my arm but hey.... Maybe someday I will lose weight. :)I paid 315 bucks and I think it was a fair price for the watch. The gold looks good but I know it will wear off in daily office use. I bought this watch as a daily watch so I didn't need the bling for dressing up. I just wanted a nice looking watch that is not "too much" for the office. Everyone who sees it likes it and the name is ok for daily wear. I will pull out the "better" watches for dinner party's and dress up events. Amazon gives me 7 days to try it and return it for a full refund for any reason. I will be keeping this because the price point balances out nicely for what I need it for.Last thought. My higher end watches need to be adjusted when I wear them because they gain or lose a bit of time each day. This for some reason is deemed acceptable in the high end watch world. I find it funny a watch that costs 10k has to be updated and this watch sets itself from the automatic time signal in Colorado. As an engineer for a high end defense company I can't get over that. Sounds like the high end watch makers need to step it up. I guess a high end watch that sets itself would wreck the "purity" of the design. I wouldn't think so but hey... I will never need a battery with this Eco watch and the power is free. A good deal all around if you know what you are getting ahead of time. I will buy more in the future from citizen.

Incredible Timepeice, comments on other reviews
A truly excellent timepiece. After spending hours researching and reading reviews, I ended up choosing this watch due to its quality construction, great looks, and superb feature set. The is the first watch I've purchased in more than 10 years. An anniversary present, I wanted to get the "right" one and I did just that.I also wanted to pass along some information to those reading reviews like I did as some of the older reviews I read were incorrect on certain "cons".Pros that mattered to me:- Sapphire glass - If your going to spend a few hundred on a watch it is a must have. Don't settle for mineral glass.- 200M WR - You can actually wash your hands, do the dishes, etc. and not fear ruining your watch. Anything less than 100M you risk it.- Perpetual calendar - You don't have to worry about resetting the date every month- Display showed information that truly mattered to me - The time, the day of the week, the date, etc.- Flexible look - you can dress up or down with this watch and doesn't appear out of place.Cons you shouldn't worry about --The bracelet can be adjusted by a 1/2 link. Read this time and time again. The one I received does have full and 1/2 links that can be removed for sizing.- The watch has a zero set up feature to zero in every dial on the watch. I read reviews that said the hands didn't align properly. Read the directions, you can adjust them, mine are perfect.- Radio signal - night time is definitely best for reception. I live in Ohio, left it in the kitchen overnight the first night I had it, synched up with medium signal strength just like it is supposed to. I tried to manually synch up the watch during the day in my office building and it wouldn't work. Don't freak out if you can't synch up the watch the moment it arrives. It automatically does it at 0200 and it works just fine.- Alarm volume - It's not an alarm clock, don't expect it to be as loud if you need it to wake you up in the morning. The alarm is sufficiently loud enough to remind you about an appointment during the day or other need when you're already awake.- Chrono function - it's fine. Read that it is hard to use and I don't agree with that. You pull the dial out one click, move it to chrono, and use it. When our done you pull out the dial, move it back to your time zone, and your done. If you need a chrono that your going to use on a daily basis this isn't the watch for you. I would suggest a stop watch.- Luminescent - Fine, nothing to write home about. It does not fade as quick as I the reviews I read. It just depends on the lighting the watch was exposed to prior to darkness. The only thing I can nit-pick is the weight. I'm a big guy and the weight doesn't bother me at all. That being said, if your not used to a somewhat heavy watch, or don't want one, you might want to try it on at a department store before buying. I think its perfect but I can see how some might have an issue with it.The last comment I'll leave you with is to watch the price on Amazon. Over the course of 36 hours I saw the watch drop $125 and back up again. Luckily I saw it on the low end when I bought it. Add it to your wish list and check on it daily. If it gets below $350 jump on it. Most certified Citizen stores sell this watch at $430 not counting sales. Macy's had it on sale for $375 around the time I bought it. Amazon was still lower and I like Amazon better anyway. Don't forget to use Amazon "Smile" and support your local charity.Hope this helps. Good luck in your search.

Citizen - Good Brand but can you see the time?
OK, let's get this out of the way - I like watches. Not a hard core fan but if I see a watch I like (citizen/seiko etc) then I'll probably justify getting it if on sale... This seemed like a good deal at the time - sapphire lens, eco drive etc - problem is that the watch face is very busy and the rose gold colours make everything look the same. End result is that this is a watch you have to really look at for a few seconds before you know what time it is. Decent watch but for an everyday beater - not something that is practical. Returned.

Returned or used watch?
Received this watch on time as promised by Amazon.ca! Initially I was concerned as the plastic wrapping usually found on new watches around the band, face and back of the watch were missing. There did not appear to be any scratches on the face or band suggesting that I received a used or returned watch so I proceeded to follow the instructions for setup in my part of the world. I live in Calgary, Alberta and had no issues with receiving the signal from Denver, Colorado. After "practicing" the various functions i.e. battery, signal strength, using the chronograph, setting the time zone to one of the five cities, in my case Denver and setting the alarm function, I found that this watch is fairly user friendly. The included manual is full of information necessary to maintaining the functionality of the watch and because I own several Eco driven perpetual watches I am fairly confident that this watch will be a great addition to my collection!

Beautiful!
Beautiful watch. I saw this watch at our local jewelry store and wanted to get it, but couldn't justify spending $600 for it. When I saw this on the Black Friday deals for less than $300 I knew I had to have it! You will need to read the manual on this one! It's not overly complicated once you know how to set the features, such as alarm, time zone, chronograph, etc. It is amazing how much technology can be put into a wrist watch. It synchronizes with the beacon every night and is deadly accurate. I own the Citizen Blue Angels AT8020-03L and it's kinda neat seeing the two watches second hands sweep at the exact same time! The lume is not as good as my Seiko SKX009 but I did't purchase it for that feature. It states in the description that the case and bracelet are rose gold, but to me it looks more copper, just as in the picture. Overall very happy with this purchase. Would highly recommend!
