Its bright colours, the jolly ting-ting of the bell and the simplistic blare of the theme tune are all designed to highlight the peurile nature of the marketeer's sales pitch."Where will it go!? Where will it stop!?"The shrill cry of the voice-over thrashes the message home i.e. this is an adventure which you must not miss out on. Be left behind at your peril. Probably at the bus station with the stinking tramps."What's the sign on the lollipop?"Who will be your guide through the capitalist miasma? Will it be Peggy Patch the poverty stricken prole, propped up in a corner of a field while the dancing and playing goes on all around her? Will it be the intellectual Why Bird, apparently confident and in control, but ultimately reliant on and tied to her computer (the 'Wye Tech') - little more than a caged laboratory pigeon pecking at buttons for seed.At the end of each journey nothing has been achieved, for the same sorry charade is performed with each episode, the variations (choices) becoming ever more predictable and shallow. I think it's sad.

I remember, not so long ago, watching this as a child every day... why they ever discontinued it is a mystery to me, it is much better than the tweeties/tellietubbies ever could be!!The graphics and puppets, watching back, are not very realistic, but as a child i truly never noticed it. I once even saw it being filmed, and it didn't spoil it for me.Playdays is pure gold which every generation should enjoy.
