Edward Gorey - Edward Gorey: 1,000 Piece Puzzle (Pomegranate Artpiece Puzzle)

This puzzle is one of the hardest that I have done, but I really enjoyed the challenge. You have to pay attention to the direction of Gorey's lines and the shapes of the pieces. It was good for my brain, and I enjoyed looking at a Gorey illustration more closely. I love his art! I liked the matte finish and all the pieces were there.

This puzzle was challenging! The pieces are many different shapes (a plus!), and fit together well. It was lots of fun and I enjoyed each minute of putting this one together!

This was a fun puzzle! It does have quite a few very similar color tones, but if you look carefully, each person is wearing a slightly different color and/or pattern. Another reviewer complained about the amount of gray sky, but I found that the majority of sky pieces had some other pattern on them to help you figure out where they belonged. (I included a picture showing how much of the puzzle is only sky.) Sorting those last pieces by shape and then using the direction of the lines helped with the ones that were all sky. The fun part about doing this puzzle was that it helped you to find all the little less noticeable details. Overall, I found it to be challenging but not at all frustrating. The pieces were thick and sturdy. Recommend!

For people serious about doing jigsaw puzzles (as I am), it's pretty much perfect.Pros:1) Wonderful smooth, matte finish so very little glare from your light source.2) No mangled or splitting pieces. I mean ZERO, folks. For 1K piece puzzle, that's pretty impressive.3) Nice, stiff pieces with very smooth edges that provide a satisfying snap.4) Nice variety of shapes5) Puzzle arrived completely shuffled- ZERO pieces arrived already together.Cons: NONE.I was so impressed with a previous Pomegranate "Artpiece" puzzle, I bought this one hoping it wasn't a fluke that this series is/was so nice. It wasn't. These are seriously good puzzles, folks. You will NOT be disappointed with an "Artpiece" series puzzle. Totally worth the $$$.

As an Edward Gorey fan, the subject matter for this puzzle definitely entertained me. Whimsical, grim and weird as always. His artwork always invited multiple examinations and uncovered fun finds with each subsequent viewing -- a great thing when you're working on a puzzle!Each of the characters has a different outfit, so you have both color and texture (and even orientation of the texture) to segment and solve the puzzle. It's far from easy but equally far from impossible. Overall, I really enjoyed this puzzle.I had no production quality issues although I did find that I had incorrectly placed pieces a few times as the design of the pieces were perhaps not always as distinct as they could be. Not a big deal but just be careful.

I have not assembled yet but im very impressed so far with the quality especially after buying some duds off Amazon. I need to pay more attention to brands this is one I will buy again annoying each piece was so busy. Its a fine quality good looking puzzle though so keeping the rating.Edited to add.... this is the hardest puzzle I've done and I got bored doing it and put it away. I just didn't seem to make progress and the markings made it

This is a great puzzle - beautiful to look at, and to assemble. The pieces feel good in your hand, a nice finish. There's a small chance that a couple of pieces were missing, but I can't say that with certainty as they may have been dropped on the floor and absconded with by the dogs. Not THAT likely, but possible.

The images were such fun to work with!! SO many surprises revealed. The pieces did not hole together very well and there was some variation in color between the image on the box and the actual puzzle. But I am going to buy another one. Gorey's characters are weird and fun and his drawing is brilliant.

Bought as a gift and it was received very well! Great picture and the puzzle quality is great.

Not a single piece broken or missing .. perfect fits .. it was a pleasure to do this puzzle … highly recommended.

My first pomegranate puzzle and have immediately ordered more. The puzzle comes in a quality reusable ziplock bag. The pieces are crisp, and thick and have a slight matte feel that feels luxurious to the touch. I'm looking forward to my new puzzles arriving, I wish they had a lot more Edward Gorey ones, the art is so distinctive.
