Perfect fit, good padding underfoot, sufficient moderate warmth for year-round use, just right elastic to hold up without leaving heavy marks, feet stay quite dry, no bunching and doesn't slip in my hiking shoes (major points!), holds up well after numerous launderings. I have bought many pairs over 15 years and even the heavily worn ones are still comfortable. Highly recommended. Review: Great Socks! - I know, What can you say about socks. Well, they do fit well. Perfect for me, anyway. I wear a size 11-1/2 shoe. My biggest fear was that they would slide down into my shoes while walking so I only bought one pair to try, But,they don't. They stay up. They were a little binding around the calf at first but comfortable after a couple of wears. And they still stay up. Pretty sharp looking, too. I will be investing in a few more pairs.

The best all around sock!
I bought these for my husband for Christmas 2009. I later bought myself a pair and we kept washing them over and over so we could wear them everyday. He researched other socks for work and cowboy boots. He purchase another brand in addition to these Wigwams a few months later. These are still the winnner! His work boots are leather and these socks do the job wicking moisture away and they stay cool. They are a comfortable fit and really hold their shape.

Bang for your buck.
Great bang for your buck product. These are comfortable, strong, wash well and look great. Durability that cannot be beat. These last forever and wash amazingly well. From decades of martial arts I have rather callused feet, which tend to kill socks. These socks take what my feet dish out, no worries. Wash after wash they keep on going too, no loss to form or the shape. These are not just for hiking, or outdoors. You can get away with the Navy or Black on casual friday, but these are not really good for office use. If you work anyplace else, these are your friend. Overall theses are very comfortable; thin enough so you do not feel like you're wearing slippers, thick enough to be a great boot sock. If you do wash them outdoors when hiking or camping, turn them inside out to dry. The wick properties will keep the sock from drying as rapidly if you do not do this. Anecdote time: I was injured a few years ago and had to have a lot of home care done. A friend bought me one of those bag-o-sox packages of what was called "sports sturdy" white socks from target. I wore those bulk white socks less than I wore these for comfort reasons.Even with wearing the white ones less, all are now gone and that pair of wigwam's are still going strong. That bag-o-sox cost about half again as much as this product. Update: My friend in Japan just asked me to get more for their in house use. Apparently they are perfect for hardwood floors and shoeless households. Second Update: Year and and a half later and no visible wear. Still going strong, no fading of the colors. I cannot express the huge bang for your buck on these. I've gifted two pairs to an friend and a family member. It's not often you get someone calling you to tell you how good a pair of socks you gave them are. I got a call from each giving a thumbs up. Suggestion: After a few washes turn them inside out and wash them once. It helps remove lint and softens the interior threads for better wear and comfort.

Quality seems to have slipped
I have owned Wigwam socks for years. I have several pairs of quarter crew and low or no-show Cool Lite. I love them! I got these crews for use with work boots. I was not prepared for how heavy they are. I will own some of that. The real disappointment was when I opened one pair to wash and try them out. I always turn new socks inside-out for the first wash. I was horrified at all the untrimmed threads inside. I view these as unfinished. I bought four pairs and returned them all. I think I am finished with Wigwam.

Comfortable and durable
My 15 year old son loves these socks for hiking & backpacking with his Boy Scout troop. I bought him a few of the 'pro quarter length' socks in July 2011 & he's still wearing them! But he needed more for an extended backpacking trip. He goes through socks like there's no tomorrow, usually putting holes in the toes in no time or wearing them through so you can practically see through them - not to mention the stains. As I said, I bought him some a year ago...and he's still using them! Not on an every day basis, but enough so that they should have been in throw-away condition by now! These look nearly new, very little wear showing. There's very little wear or staining on them, which is amazing for normal wear, let alone backpacking. He says they are the most comfortable socks he's ever had, & he's never had to use a liner with them. He went on a rough, week long backpacking trip to Philmont with his Boy Scout troop last summer. He was told he needed to definately wear liner socks to protect his feet from the rough terrain - he didn't, and he did not have a single blister on the entire trip! In fact, he was always getting blisters & hot spots until he began wearing these socks! My husband & both sons have worn these socks during Boy Scout camp, which consisist of a week walking up & down 'suicide hill' several times a day. Since we got these socks for them, none have had anymore problems with their feet.......Oh, and did I forget to mention that my backpacking son wears a size 14 shoe? And his brother wears a size 13. Finding socks like this that will fit either of them are nearly impossible & very expensive - so I'm even more pleased with these because of that!

Wigwam Men's Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Length Sock
I ordered these socks on the basis of a review by K. Kurpiel and others. Due to the price I bought one pair as a test. I am on Section 8 Low income housing and in my apartment they have very nasty indoor/outdoor type carpet that munches up those 6 packs of socks and even more costly department store single pair socks. In one single day of use these will have holes in the heels. Some last for several days of this type of use, Some Adida socks have lasted as long as 6-8 months from a three pack. But the last time I bought some of those from Adida, the socks had changed somehow, and wore out very quickly. If I go barefoot on this rug I start getting "pointy sharp skin things" on the bottom of my big toes and heels from the rug trying to wear my feet out, so I need to wear something on my feet. I still haven't found a pair of slippers I like in 54 years. Go figure. Beneath me lives an old lady (6 years my senior at 60) who has I will bet, the nation's best hearing and I tend to pace alot. They say it's anxiety and depression, but actually it just helps me relax. I was an ideal test subject for these socks. Shoes are not an option here. The socks arrived in record time for ordering by ground delivery. Took 2 days instead of 8. Packaged adequately--what can happen to socks in the mail? I DON'T WANT TO KNOW OK? Figure of speech :^ They were supposed to be delivered October 13, They arrived by the time I got up on October 8th. Speechless. I spent the rest of that day ogling these weird socks that look like they had been knit (knitted?) 6 different ways. I usually wear a size 9 mens shoe (Nike size 10½) so I ordered the Large size. They were snug. That suits me fine. I hate my socks slipping down on my ankles--always have. I'll refuse to purchase socks a second time from anyone whose socks strech out and slip down. With WigWam Cool-lite Hiker Pro's this was not an issue. I am 70½" tall and weigh 167 lbs. I Ride my bicycle 5-7 days a week and my legs are not fat, so if you have poor circulation or just like looser socks order larger size than you normally would as recommended by others. October 9th I began wearing them. I wore them 2 straight days. Skipped a day to hand wash & dry during which I wore old tube socks around the house with the holes turned up. As a note, I still haven't tried to machine wash these socks. Wore them for another 2 straight days. I followed this regimen all month, except that I deviated from that 2 times. Once I wore them exclusively for 3 days and once 4 days in between hand washings. Never wore a shoe on them in the apartment except when I was getting ready to go out. I have a few 'pulled loops' from my fingernails that split easily, and there are some knots and fibers bunched on the bottoms. I intentionally did what I knew would wear out most other socks that I have worn here. They still look very nice and I look forward to putting them on again each morning expecially on the clean days :^) November 3rd - I am placing an order for more of these WigWam socks and also for some as gifts to my sons who don't live on the same destructive rug as I do. Due to that, they may get many years out of them. For me, I am hoping they will outlast those miraculous Adida socks I can't find anymore, and I am going to try and see how long I can make the next few pairs last instead of trying to wear them out. I am sold that they lasted for a whole month of such arduous use. I would have totally ruined these socks if I could have. I could not. I wanted to do a review of WigWam's guarantee/return policy and the user friendliness of it. Now I'm thinking those policies have probably never been tested since they began business in 1905--and might never be. If there can be said to be other durable, comfortable socks out there available to the USA, I would very much appreciate being placed on the "Need to Know List". 5 gold stars for the teepee :)
