I really like it
These things are great. This one in particular is inexpensive and does the trick. I have to water the new sod patches in sections. This timer makes it easy: place the sprinkler, set the timer for an hour, and go do something else. I don't remember if there were any instructions or even a box. The only thing for special attention is the little black tab under the edge of the dial at the OUT side of the unit. Press it down to disengage the dial so the dial will turn easily to the desired setting. No batteries, non-rusting plastic, easy to read dial, durable outside, and priced right. Just what I was looking for at a great price.

Worked really well for a misting system
I use this attached to my laundry faucet in order to add a misting system that went out the window to the kids place set outside. This has been a really awesome choice! I love that I can put it on a timer. I love that I can Manually turn it on and off. It’s worked really well for us! It was also very easy to install. I haven’t had any issues with leaking. Although I have used some plumbers tape to seal off the attachment holes.

My favorite outdoor watering timer.
I love this timer, it has never failed to shut off when timer has timed out. The only issue is I have extremely hard water that can corrode the inside. No fault of the manufacturer, just hard water doing its thing. To make sure the timer lasts season after season just soak in white vinegar every so often and you’re good to go.

Great Customer Service.
Orbit is getting a five star rating from me because of how they made things “right”. I bought this product last year, used it and loved it. It worked without fail. But sometimes things go sideways and it stopped working. I went online, found Orbit, customer service, made a phone call and told them about my problem. They are replacing my unit at no charge. The process took less than 10 minutes to complete. They have a customer for life!

It's a good product it works as stated
Orbit is the standard mechanical hose timer. I've been using them for years and they do exactly what they're supposed to do. I've tried cheaper ones and was disappointed with their durability. And I've tried much more expensive ones and I was disappointed with their durability. I had three fully functioning ones last fall. One of which came from my last house. It must have been 5 or 10 years old, God knows, it was really faded. And then, like an idiot, I left all three out this last winter and they froze and cracked just like the instructions said they would. My fault, so I bought some more. The new ones look exactly like the old ones, they must have been making this identical model for 30 or 40 years. Well, I hope so, cuz you shouldn't try to fix what ain't broke. Two things to keep in mind: 1. They are tough, but plastic and it's possible to over-tighten hoses with metal threads. If a hose leaks at the joint when you tighten it firmly with your hand, don't tighten it further with pliers or a wrench. You need to replace the hose's rubber washer. And if you hook it directly to the faucet and jerk the hose hard, it is possible to break it at the neck. But if you treat them with a little respect, they will last for years. Oh, and one other thing: You shouldn't lay them on their side in sand or dirt because some of it can get underneath the twist knob and make it hard to twist. If you happen to do this, hold the hose right next to the slit at the bottom of the handle so you get high pressure water and it should wash the dirt out. (And, for your mechanically adept people out there, they have three real screws on their bottoms so you can actually take them apart. They aren't glued together like some others I've tried.)

Simple and Reliable Water Timer That Just Works
Simple and Reliable Water Timer That Just Works The Orbit 62034 mechanical hose timer has been one of the handiest garden tools I’ve owned. I picked it up years ago and still use it regularly—it’s as straightforward as it gets. No batteries, no programming, no app—just turn the dial like an old-school egg timer and walk away. You can set anywhere from 15 to 120 minutes, and it reliably shuts the water off when time is up. I’ve used it with sprinklers, soaker hoses, and even to fill stock tanks. It’s saved me from countless “oops” moments where I’d forget the water was running and waste hours’ worth. It also has a manual “on” option, so I don’t have to disconnect it when I want the faucet running continuously. A couple of tips from experience: * Don’t leave it baking in direct sun day after day—it’ll last longer if you shade it. * Make sure the washers are in good shape to avoid drips at the connection. * It’s not as precise as digital timers, but for everyday lawn and garden watering, it’s more than accurate enough. For under ten bucks, it has saved me far more than that in water bills. It’s one of those tools that feels like it should be in every garage. Bottom line: A simple, inexpensive, and reliable way to make sure your sprinklers shut off when they should. Perfect for anyone who wants hassle-free watering without batteries or electronics.

save a lot of water, easy to use, great price
For the price, these are hard to beat. I have purchased 20 of these over the past 10 years and use them a lot. They are totally mechanical and don't require batteries to operate. The only problem that I have with them is that after a few years, they quit and don't appear to be reparable. I am pretty good at fixing things ,and I have not yet figured out how to repair these.
