Exactly what I was looking for
These PlateMate Microload weights complement and complete my Snode AD80 adjustable dumbbells as if it was made from the same factory. It almost fits perfectly on the ends of the dumbbell. The rubber-coated and adequately magnetized 2.5 to 5 lb weight increments per dumbbell are perfect to fill the 10lb gap. This makes the dumbbells suitable for exercises that require finer increments of weight adjustment, such as arm curls. Adding the weights is as easy as placing them on the ends of the dumbbells, and the magnet will do the rest, and just yank them off to take them off. Snade makes magnetic add-on weights, but they protrude too much, potentially interfering with some exercises, and they're not rubber-coated, which over time will chip away the weight's coating. Sure, the PlateMates come with a premium price, but you would be hard-pressed to find a better quality product.

Great option to save space and money
These are a great way to expand your dumbbell set cheaply. Firstly, these will not stick to neoprene coated dumbbells. They are also too big for anything less than 20lbs. Right now I’ve got 5’s, 10’s, 15’s and 20’s. After the 20’s I only have 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, etc etc and it’s so nice since I have a small space. They stick really well and are easy to put on and not that hard to get off. You can pull them off with a decent amount of force but they won’t come off so easy if you were to shake the weight or something. I’ve dropped my dumbbells with magnets on the either side for a while and they have yet to crack or break. Definitely great functionality and are easy to use. I kind of wish 5lbs were made so you could stick 5lbs on one side and 2.5lbs on the other for a 3/4 increment, but I may try the ones that clamp to the handle. I didn’t buy those because I heard they don’t stick well and pinch your hand.

Strong magnets, Durable, Pricey?
Bought two sets of these to supplement PowerBlock sets. Very strong holding power when working out, never worried the weights will fall off mid-set. Price seems expensive but the product is very well made; your grandchildren will be using these after you are long gone :-)

Works as designed
Work great, stick to hex dumbbells pretty well. Haven't been hit in the face with one falling off yet!

Great tool, but over priced
These are a nice tool for obtaining micro-gains. They have a strong stick and fit nicely on both a KB and DBs. That being said these are priced WAY too high for what they are. Also, I’d encourage people to exercise some caution because if you have a tendency to “click” the weights at the top of your rep you could knock them off. If you’re doing a chest press, that may mean 2.5 lbs popping you in the face.

An Outstanding Add On
What an important add on for my Power Blocks Elite EXP! Due to their design, there's no 12.5lbs, 22.5lbs,32.5lbs and so on. With certain exercises, a sudden 5lbs increase can throw off your gains. But Weight Plates is the perfect solution. These plates stick on strong with no worries of slipping off. On the pictures you'll see I placed them on the ends and or the bottoms when you want the 12.5lbs increment. But either way you have two options on placement (or anywhere there's metal) I highly recommend these Platemate additions. Ps: The magnet can be hard to release when placed at the ends. But my secret is just slide them off. And no worries, the magnets are coated in rubber so it won't scratch the dumbbells.

Perfect for Powerblock U90
Update: After 3 weeks I removed 2 stars because the polarity on these was ruined when my nephew tried sticking similar poles together. Now one of them barely works. While can certainly happen when EXTREMELY strong magnets, I wouldn’t have known/thought this was possible with these. I wish there was some warning on the package. The only downside of my Powerblocks is that there is a 5 pound jump between the tens. This was causing me to hit a wall, or to make difficult leaps that felt risky. NO MORE! These magnetic plates almost feel made for powerblocks. They attach perfectly to the U90s. They feel very secure, and yet are easy to remove due to the “lip: on the magnets. These are coated with a rubberized coating that feels premium, and so I’m not worried about them scratching my weights. They attach really securely to my weight table when not in use. I bought a set of 2 1/2 pounds plates to save money. It feels fine to put one on each of my dumbbells. The balance is slightly off, but I just rotate them between sets. They have to be removed anyway when returning the powerblocks into the rest of the weights, so it’s more convenient than having one on each side... Also, they do attach to the metal base of the Powerblocks, and for many exercises this works best (and so two weights on each is REALLY overkill). They’re expensive, but are well-made, and look great, and solve a problem and help avoid injury—so I’m happy I splurged. The only reason I’d consider buying the 1 1/4 weights would be if I’d want smaller microloading, but I doubt that’s necessary.

Owned for 5+ years!
Purchased in 2021, have used several times a week since then and would definitely buy again. I use these with iron hex dumbells and it saved me so much money (only have to purchase in 10 lb increments). No interference during excercises!

Great construction
I've been using plateMate for 13 years and have bought the donut and hexagon design. These are excellent. The magnet is better protected than previous designs. It sticks like hell to the point that they may be very hard to remove from the dumbbell. Only con for me is the price. I also wish they would make them in 5 pounds as I use them to increase total weight of Nuo adjustable dumbbells.

Very solid quality, but high price tag
Very good and super solid quality. Can’t help to think that they are overprised though. Bought due to lack of alternatives available.

does what it should
Since I have fractional dumbbell plates of 2.5 and 1.25 pounds for dumbbell work, I bought these with the sole intention of using them on cast iron kettlebells. I was worried they would not have enough power to "stick" to the bases of the kettlebells in use. They work just fine on the 12kg and 16kg kettlebells I have. They even work on the 8kg kettlebells although the base is smaller than the magnetic plate diameter. I tried shaking the ketllebells as much as I could and the added plates never moved at all. I like the fact that the manufacturer made a ridge on them to facilitate their removal. Don't try pulling away, just grab the ridge and slide the magnetic weights sideways. They are expensive for what they are but they are well made and fill a need when someone wants to add a weight that makes sense instead of going in bigger increments of the standard 4kg (9 lbs) that we see from most kettlebell manufacturers. I weighed the plates to see how exact the weights were. One weighed 1135 grams which is spot on and the other weighed 1125. I can live with a very negligible 10 gram difference. I would not recommend these weights on kettlebells of less than 8kg simply because the bases might not be large enough to hold the extra weight securely. Of course I would not use them on vinyl or rubber coated kettlebells.

Versatile
Versatile… very useful to add incremental weight while strength training. Magnetic disc are very strong allowing them to stay firmly in place during movement. A must for any home gym user
