I have inflammatory PCOS. I have a histamine intolerance to foods. Which means I also can't spike my blood sugar levels. Black rice, in proper portions and prepared correctly, is very low glycemic index and does not spike my blood sugar levels. So this is my go to grain to have with a meal since my body can't tolerate many other grains.I love that black rice can be used in savory or naturally sweet dishes. I sometimes just warm up some black rice, coconut milk, and blueberries to have as a dessert. No added sugars or substitutes needed. This simple ingredients satisfy me every time.This brand is probably the best black rice I've had too. It's so hard to find locally and when I have it's not that great of quality. So far I like most of Yupik's brand that I've tried. Really good quality and value for what you get.It comes in a good, sturdy resealable bag, but I always empty mine into glass jars. This bag lasts me about a month of eating about 1/2 cup prepared, almost daily.

I had never tried this before and will keep it on hand. It cooks well in the pressure cooker using the same recipe for brown rice

I make it in my rice maker with chicken broth, a bit of olive oil and garlic.

The black rice is healthy so, it is a must buy.

I love this black rice so much. Rinse very well, then cook in beef bone broth (more protein, more umami) for 40min (to a boil, then lowest simmer) at 2:1, PLUS 1/2cup hot water per 1 cup uncooked rice. Add white miso paste, onion powder, smoked paprika, turmeric. That's the best rice I've ever made, in years of experimenting.

This company has a wonderful reputation for quality products and packaging (or no mold, moisture problems). This rice cooks up pretty quick (a lot quicker than brown rice..about 2 minutes). Obviously, its super versatile. I will keep on buying this kind.

Did vinegar test on this rice and it is authentic. Also delicious! I did not see rice cooker directions on it- I needed almost (but not quite) twice as much water as rice.Will order this again!
