Grateful that replacement straps are available for Thule trunk racks. Very nice, sturdy, exactly the original straps.

If you regularly use these Thule straps, you are going to wear them out eventually. I never had straps completely fail on me, but the openings did tear which meant I could not tie my bike down as tightly as I would have liked.These replacements work just fine. They seem a bit less flexible and pliable than my original straps but that's not a complaint. I want the straps to function and stay put when my bike is racked and I'm driving freeway speeds. I've been very happy with my Thule carrier and never have concern that anything is going to work loose.

So I have a Thule 3 bike rack that goes on the back of my car and one of the tie down straps broke (after about 5 years of use). I ordered this product because the picture looked exactly like my straps. The order came and the straps are NOT exactly like the ones on my rack. Funny though, the picture of the straps that comes in the package is a picture of my straps not the one's that accompany the photo in the package. I had seen these straps elsewhere and had purposely not ordered them as I was afraid they might not perform adequately with my rack. So initially I was pretty annoyed. These straps are a bit thicker and much stiffer than the original straps. They do fit onto the pegs with a little elbow grease and after using them for the first time I was sold. I have intermittently had my bike pop out of the one of the cradles while driving on the freeway at relatively high speeds despite using 2 straps at both tie down sites (bike still held but swaying a good bit and requiring a stop to adjust). I believe this is due to the flexibility of the original straps which, despite using 2 at both tie down sites, with enough force have enough play to allow the bike to pop up just enough to come out of one of the cradles. Well with these new straps this no longer happens. After the first use I installed the other three new straps on the rack and am now ordering another set to replace the remaining original straps as I am so pleased with the performance of this product.

I think you should change the product photos. I almost DID NOT purchase these straps because they DID NOT LOOK LIKE the Thule OEM straps with respect to the slot included in the end hole. Much to my surprise the straps I got have this slot in the end hole. It helps ease the strap over the attachment. ... if the product is goint ot be consistent in meeting OEM design, I thin the product picture should be changed.

My bike rack is on the vehicle more than it is off. That means it and all the parts are exposed to extremes in the elements. Eventually, non-metal parts are going weather and sadly break. However, the replacement straps are a pefect fit for my Thule bike rack and work just like the original equipment. I would suggest that if you are going to replace one, replace its mate as well. If one breaks, the other can't be far behind.

The rubber strap works as designed for a while but...it's the weakest part of the bike rack. If you bike a lot and use the strap each time it quickly breaks down. Thule really needs to come up with a better means of securing the bike to the rack...or offer free replacement straps!!

Hola, estaba buscando estas piezas de reemplazo, ya que las que traía el rack de compra se han roto casi todas ya. Venían delgadas y por el uso se han roto. Al recibir estas y utilizarlas noto/percibo que el hule es bastante fuerte. No siento que se vayan a romper tan fácil ni tan rápido. Apesar que he leído reseñas de algun cliente, que este producto se ha roto con poco uso. No se a que se deba. Yo llevo ya usandolas unas dos vecws por semana y están perfectas. Son tan duras para mi que me cuesta trabajo colocarlas y asegurar la bicicleta. Batallaba mucho pero halle un truco para facilitar la colocación. Si sucede algo inesperado, actualizaré mi reseña. Por el momento, recomiendo la compra si estás buscando reemplazo de sujetadores para porta bici. Yo tengo un portabici clásico o sencillo.
