4Ever Products The Richmond Black Steel Mailbox with White Vinyl Post Included

Our purchase came on time (within two days via Amazon Prime). It only took 2hrs to install. We had no missing parts. We were replacing an existing wooden mailbox and were able to upcycle the post to use as additional support inside. Unfortunately, the predrilled holes in the support post and plate did not match up. There is a lip in the back of the black box that is supposed to fit between the plate and the main post. The predrilled holes did not leave room for that lip to slide in, therefore we drilled new holes for everything to come together. This was not too much of an issue since drilling new holes was pretty easy.Our old post fit perfectly inside the new post. It is 3.5x3.5, therefore a 4x4 will not fit. The dimensions inside are something like 3.85x3.85.All in all, we are quite pleased and have added our own decorative house number plate. The birds are also quite pleased as a few have already perched on top of it and left some decorations of their own.

As other reviewers have noted, the mounting holes for the mailbox to the support piece were way off. Easy enough to drill out new ones, but something to take into consideration.We mounted a wood post in concrete and slid this on top, but instructions claim you could just bury or concrete in the plastic directly.The actual mailbox has been a little disappointing - it can be hard to close, and tends to pop open on its own. Not great for rainy days.

Plastic vinyl that is hollow and needs a center base for stability. Our mailbox has been up for a month and it's sagging forward already after one week. I'm not sure this will withstand after a year. Not worth the price at all. I'm giving it 2 stars for it does look nice. The plastic caps just slide on and fall off as well. The pre drilled holes were completely crooked and useless but that was an easy fix.

I replaced an old post and an ok mailbox that was a faded color with this black box and white post. It looks nice works well too. Surprisingly, line trimmers do not mar the surface of the vinyl pole. I definitely would recommend this mailbox and post.

This mail box and post are unbelievable elegant. They add a real distinguished look to your front yard

Very low quality plastic mailbox. Found the two components at Home Depot for less than $60 after we installed.
