Finally found the right monitor for me
I had quite an ordeal finding the right monitor for me, and I bought 3 monitors before I found one I liked: this one! My laptop screen is going kaput, so I have been using this external monitor as my main screen. It has a very small bezel, which I find to be a nice touch. I keep my desktop background black with a picture in the middle. The colors on this screen are so rich that in my office I can't tell where the black background ends and the bezel begins. I like the finish of the screen as well, which is glossy and brings out the nice contrast, but isn't too reflective that I start focusing on the reflection of what is behind me. The first monitor I bought has a more matte finish, which I didn't like. The blacks weren't black and the color just didn't look as good. The second monitor I bought was the predecessor to this monitor I believe, and the glare was a bit more noticeable (I think this model has a new finish that has less glare). I got this 23" monitor for 139.99 so I couldn't pass it up. I will probably be buying a second of these monitors soon for the custom computer I am building, and even though the price has increased a bit, I think it is still worth it. Looks great. No HDMI port, though.

but no HDMI port which is fine if you are prepared for that with your setup
Why Would a 200$ monitor be on sale for 99$? The connections on this monitor are very lacking for a modern monitor. There is a VGA and DVI port, but no HDMI port which is fine if you are prepared for that with your setup. The ONE thing i did not see when reading the reviews and product information is that the power port is not a standard 3 prong plug-in on the back of the monitor. It goes through an adapater which your power cord plugs into so its just an extra piece of equipment that could fail. Without this adapter you can simply not use your monitor. Other than that the image is great and it looks sleek. The monitor border is very thing and modern looking. Stand works well and is stable.

Great monitor
I'm very pleased with the appearance, function and performance of this monitor. I set out looking for a monitor to use as dual monitor setup with the iMac 21.5". We all know the performance of the Mac monitors are fantastic, so I was worried about finding a close match, since this would be sitting next to my iMac. I picked a 27" AOS monitor first, but the performance, color, etc was terrible, so I returned it. After speaking to a rep at a local store, I was told to look for "IPS" as an indicator of a superior monitor. I'm not sure if that is true, but once I set this monitor up, and made a few tweaks to the settings, I'm very very happy. Additionally, the slim case edges and hidden touch buttons make for a handsome appearance. The buttons you would normally find to access/navigate the menus are not visible. You only see the power light, but if you touch to the left of that power button on the case, the menu items appear. There are no markings to indicate those buttons. I'm not complaining, just wanted to mention that.

Even the Dell websight talks about great sound, but does not advertise hdmi
This monitor may be ok but it is not as advertised on Amazon. Website for 23" specifically says "with vga and hdmi ports". It has only DVI and VGA. "Engaging video and audio experience" implies speakers. There are no speakers. Even the Dell websight talks about great sound, but does not advertise hdmi. Amazon needs to do better on descriptions otherwise all the extra trouble and cost of returns. My order was just returned.

Gorgeous and works well with a MiniDisplayPort/Thunderbolt to DVI cable hooked up to an older Macbook Pro. Reviews of it's predecessor, the S2340M, were that it was fantastic, though prone to failure with dismal and even borderline fraudulent support from Dell. I chose the newer version in hopes that Dell solved the inherent flaws without compromising quality. I am very happy with the resolution and colors. Movies are stunning, and the size is perfect. I will update this review if it craps out though. Hopefully not! With the MacBook Pro I found the best resolution to be with it not mirroring. There is a way to position the displays on a diagonal in System Preferences/Displays/Arrangement such that the true resolution of the S2316M is honored. Drag the menu bar from the smaller display to the larger in that diagram to make the default system screen the S2316M.Rivals the iMac! Good Luck!

Picture good; but no integrated speakers
Good quality picture. However despite how it's advertised above (and on the Dell website itself), there are NO integrated speakers. Furthermore, a subsequently-purchased Dell soundbar which is supposed to fit "all new Dell monitors" does not fit this monitor. There are no tabs underneath the screen that pop out to fit the soundbar.
