Great for seniors with low vision
This is a terrific little remote for my 94 year old grandmother that is visually impaired. It set up perfectly for me within a matter of minutes on a Samsung tv with antenna connection (no set top box). Favorite channel buttons were easily programmed. She pretty much only watches 5 channels (FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS) so this remote works well for her and is very simple and basic. Exactly what we need!

Couldn't get it to work. Returned.
Bought this for my 88 year old mother who struggles with her Comcast remote. The printed instructions leave out a step in programming channels. Programmed to control TV fine. Couldn't get remote to control Cable box. Contacted customer service, their response was basically "Call your cable company." After a couple hours spent with Google, I found out how to make it work with the cable box. sort of... The remote would send the channel number to the cable box, 718 for example, but the cable box just sat there waiting for an "Enter" to be sent. So I contacted customer service. Again. They sent me detailed instructions on how to program an "Enter". Great! Except it didn't work. I re-did it a dozen times, because I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me doing it wrong. Nope. The detailed instructions were worthless. The remote has been returned to Amazon and I ordered a different brand. They get one star only because I can't give them zero.

Works well, but
Bought this for my 101 year old mother-in-law, and she loves it. But the instructions are not quite complete. For example when setting up for the tv, we found a code that would change the channels, and thought we were done, but that code would not turn the tv off. We needed to continue through the list to find a code that did both. Also, when programming the favorites buttons, we had to press the mute key to get the station to be saved. Those things didn't take a lot of extra time, but they were a nuisance.

Was glad this worked!
Got this for my mom who moved to an assisted living that only provided satellite TV. She has low vision so had to find a simple remote for her to use, and not have to flip through nearly 400 channels. Took a little while to set up, but worked great. You do have to keep trying the codes for the TV and satellite box but eventually one will work. She has a Sceptre brand HDTV and Directv satellite. Was pleasantly surprised--usually stuff doesn't work as advertised, but this remote did.

Hard to program. Easy to use.
Could not find the codes for my dad’s TV or cable box. The tv is old. The cable box is relatively new. The codes online were the same as printed in the manual. I had to manually program both the TV and cable box. Took about 90 minutes total. Would not recommend for a non-technical person for programming. The power and mute buttons don’t always work when pressed, which confuses my elderly father. I have to sometimes press the power and mute buttons 2x myself to get an activated response. All in all, though, the best elderly remote I could find.

Doesn’t work, manual is no help, support is no help
Bought this for my mother, who has dementia. Could not make it work with her TV or with her cable box. None of the codes worked, nor did “code search.” As the reviews show, this remote works for fewer than nine out of ten buyers. Their code library simply isn’t comprehensive enough. The manual is confusing and poorly written—they even spell their own website wrong. For “code search,” users are advised to press a button “continuously.” What does that mean? To hold the button down, or to press it over and over again? So I had to try it both ways. While the manual cautions that it can take a few hundred tries to find the right code, any way I did it, the programming light went off after 50 or so tries, and I was forced to start again. Under the circumstances, it’s hard not to figure that the same inattention to detail that went into the manual also went into the design and manufacture of the product. Email support is responsive, but their responses are not very helpful. For example, when I alerted support to the ambiguity of the code search instructions, they replied that the manual is being rewritten—and didn’t bother to tell me whether to hold or repeatedly press the button. It’s a shame, because the concept of this product is exactly what I need, and no one else makes a remote like it. Here’s hoping a better company comes along with a similar concept and superior execution.

Favorites don't work without a cable box
I have an Insignia TV connected to a roof antenna for OTA channels. I was able to make the remote work to control the TV with the first Insignia code listed. However, inexplicably, only programming Channel 3 worked on the Favorites buttons. Using the same technique for Channel 5 and others did not work. According to Tech Support, BOTH the TV and Cable box must be programmed first. Favorites don't work without a cable box according to him. Seems very hard to believe, but he quoted the manual saying the TV and Cable box must be programmed first. That makes sense if you HAVE a cable box but seems ridiculous it doesn't support a plain TV with an Antenna for OTA reception. Also seems close to impossible to put a subchannel on a favorite button anyway, i.e. 3.2.

Easy to use
We bought this for my elderly site impaired mother who only listens to 2 TV stations, but was continually getting her TV all messed up because her original remote is too complicated and small to maneuver. This is a simple 3 step remote. 1 turn on the TV. 2 select one of the 4 channels programed (she only uses two). 3 adjust the volume.... All three steps are completed by using large, easy to use buttons on the remote, with very, very few mistakes on her part. Well worth the cost and time it took to program for her...

Buttons lose programming after 9 months
The remote works well for a while, but then the 'favourite channels' buttons stop working. I've tried reprogramming them several times but they won't work. This happened to the first remote we purchased also. I emailed customer support and received no response. I called them as well - no response. So my mom has been at the nursing home sitting in her room with no TV for 4 days. Nice. Going to Walmart tomorrow to buy a different brand.

15second delay
Purchased for an easier way to access tv for a senior with dementia. Remote is white and stands out, so is easy to find. Easy to use. Only challenge is the reaction time from pressing the on button to the tv turning on is 15seconds. This leads to frustration and lack of success by the user. Will try different codes to the eastlink box to improve the speed.

Grandma loves it so far!
Seems to work for 104 year old who has sight issues! Haven’t had it long enough to rate durability. 🤞
