I've just been to Homebase (1 July 23) to check this as the water based version is rubbish. AND it is !wash your brushes in water!" on the back of the tin! Why? Because you have to wait for a cool day to paint it as it dries so quickly you gets brush marks. It isn't shiny like proper gloss and worst off all, the water in the paint makes the tin go rusty which falls into the paint and you get bits on your surface. I will never buy another can of the water based version. Amazon could be selling solvent based its in the description, in which case if it is, buy it!

Do you under coat first

Rub down & remove any old flaking paint work. Use primer first on any bare wood, then undercoat all surfaces .After 24 hours top coat of gloss can be applied.
