Precious Cat Classic Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 18 lb Bag

I was skeptical at first, but after reading all of the reviews I decided to give it a try. I have had cats for YEARS and hated litter boxes and the cleanup that comes along with them. I have been searching for a litter that clumps better, contains the smell, and has less dust. Let me tell you, THIS IS THE ONE!!! It has amazing clumping power and doesn't leave small grains of soiled litter in the box when you scoop, the dust is minimal (it is there, but definitely improved from other litters), and the smell is contained. With that said, I did mix this litter with a small amount of leftover cheap litter and I do use a deodorizer powder when I scoop the litter. I scoop the litter every 2 days. I used to hate scooping the litter because the smell of urine seemed to permeate and stick around in the air and the litter box would smell absolutely ripe after. With this litter, I can scoop with ease and the smell doesn't linger! My advice- scoop every day or two, refresh with litter as needed, and change out the entire box every 2 weeks. As other reviews stated, sometimes the clumps can be large and hard, which can make it difficult to detach from the side of the litter box. I found that if I gently shake the box back and forth a couple of times before attempting to scoop that the clumps would easily detach from the side of the box. There is minimal dust with this litter and i dont get choked when i fill the box. It doesn't seem to track outside of the litter box any more or less than other brands. My cat ALWAYS kicks litter everywhere, so I have a large plastic container under her box to catch it for easier cleanup. I did notice that it doesn't seem to track from the plastic container onto the carpet too much. It is contained. Edit to add: I receives the 40 lb bag on Nov 17th. I have one cat and I STILL haven't ran out of this kitty litter! Still going strong over 1 month later. If the $20 seems like a lot at first, believe me when I say it is WORTH IT. I went from spending $15/week to having this $20 litter last me over a month.

I don’t even write reviews but this one surprised me. I switched to the crystal litter, similar to the smart litters, mainly because my cat has asthma and cannot be in really dusty litters. The cheap litters was really bad with tracking, leave dust in the air and made me always feel so stuffy. Recently I’ve been struggling financially and sadly couldn’t afford the smart litter this time. I was looking and looking and found this one with good reviews. I wasn’t too happy that I had to get something like dust litters. When I opened it up, I was SO surprised, not a single dust in the air. The smell was good. It was very soft. My cats immediately went. I also like that the pee dries pretty quick! The crystal litters was good for smell but the pee would always go all the way to the bottom and it wouldn’t last as long. This one gets everything out, the color stays original, everything I’ve been looking for and especially $20 less for 6 more pounds. Would 100% recommend.

Hey there, I wanted to share my thoughts on Dr. Elsey's Premium Clumping Cat Litter. Now, I'm not an expert on cat stuff, but I'll tell you how it's been for me and my kitty. First things first, this stuff clumps up really nicely. When my cat does her business, it makes these solid lumps that are easy to scoop out. No more messy, wet litter at the bottom of the box – that's a big plus! And let's talk about the stink. This litter is like a superhero when it comes to odors. It somehow sucks up all those not-so-nice smells and keeps the air in my home much fresher. It's been a game-changer for our small apartment. The best part? It doesn't seem to kick up a crazy dust storm. My kitty used to make a big mess with her old litter, but this one isn't as bad. Less dust floating around is a relief for both of us. I've also heard it's good for sensitive cats and people with allergies. I can't confirm that scientifically, but my cat seems happy and healthy, so I'm happy. And as for cleaning, it's not a big chore. The clumps come out easily, and the litter stays pretty clean overall. It's a time-saver. Oh, and one more thing – it doesn't seem to stick to my cat's paws as much, so we don't find little granules all over the place. I find this litter to be absolutely remarkable! It is of extreme high-quality. While it makes scooping urine and excrement extremely easy, I find that it helps dramatically with odor control as well. While I don’t use this litter all by itself yet as my cat is still just a kitten so I mix it with a litter that is specifically safe for kittens (corn husk) but once she passes one year old, I will switch to using only this cat litter. I have always had cats and at my right age. I am absolutely 100% satisfied not only having litter delivered to my door instead of struggling to bring it from the store in and out of a car, up the stairs in the house, etc. , but because of introducing this into the kitten litter, I only have to change the litter once every five weeks. I do scoop the litter every time she uses the bathroom as I am retired and home with her all day and night. There is NEVER ANY Little pieces of urine soaked litter in the pan at all, which is why there’s no need to continually change litter/clean & wash every week. Even when I do wash the litter pan once every five weeks I noticed there’s absolutely no litter stuck on the sides or the bottom of the pan or no horrible odors AT ALL!!! I’m very grateful that technology has come so far and that I was able to find this cat litter. I would recommend this litter to anyone with a kitten that does not want to use clay, pellets and kitten litter on its own, but to use as an additive. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I find it there is virtually no dust. If any incense I have tile floors I would definitely know because I would feel it on my bare feet. And she never has any stuck to the bottom of her little feet. I look forward to making the transition to only using this cat litter once she has passed kitten stage and it is safe.. I don’t use any deodorizers in the box or additional additives as those are very harmful for kittens and cats lungs, and sinuses let alone if they lick it off of their paws. And there’s no need. I do only have one cat so as stated I only have to completely change the litter once every five weeks, this is truly a cost SAVER. I prefer to use this instead of flushable litter as I live in a condo and it is definitely not good for older pipes. I will say that I also use the poop bag to discard her soiled litter. I use the ones that contain odor COMPLETELY and no one would ever know that I have a cat in my house. It takes me about three days to fill one completely before I discard it. So that is my opinion and my review. 100% recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Dustless? No! Less Dusty? YES! I recently adopted a kitty that, as it turns out, is allergic to a lot of things that impact her eyes, ears, and breathing. Had tried using a popular top brand that claimed to be 99.9% dust free and unscented, but kitty's symptoms were getting worse. Actually, that brand was more expensive then this brand. Prior to trying that "vet recommended brand," the shelter had been using paper pellets for her, but that was very difficult to clean and smell was very difficult to control. Rather than going back to the paper pellets just yet, I started testing the Classic version of Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat about a month ago, and am seeing less dust along with improved allergy symptoms. If her symptoms continue to improve, I will stay with this brand. Yes, as mentioned by many users, the litter does clump well, but, also as mentioned the litter tends to clump in large balls that stick to the bottom of the litter pan. Rather than fight to break it loose with the litter scoop, I grabbed an old metal spatula (now dedicated to the litter cleaning) and slide it under the clumps, loosening them before scooping with the litter scoop for regular cleaning purposes. This quick extra step actually saves on overall litter clean-out time. Pan Cleaning - there is less offensive urine smell during litter clean-out times. Also, I have noted the urine smell that tends to absorb into the plastic on the litter pans has decreased, even after four weeks of daily use. I have not needed to wash the stench out of the pans yet. So, I will not be needing to scrub out the pans as often. By the way, there is a great product for cleaning that terrible urine smell out of the plastic pans without totally destroying the cat's desire to ever use the pan again, but that's something totally different and I won't add that recommendation today. Odor Free? Well... The feces odor is quickly absorbed and, although the urine odor is somewhat noticeable at first, it seems to subside fairly quickly. There is not an extra deodorant scent that I can detect, and, like I mention, the cat's allergy symptoms are improving. Some litter tracking noted, but not too bad. Have seen much worse with other brands.

Great litter! No dust at all on the classic. Had to stop with the ultra as the dust and tracking started getting bad for some reason. There was a sale and I tried the classic, so far this is now my litter of choice after testing over 30 litters from many many manufacturers over the course of the last 3 years. Mix about 1lb of aquatic experts washed carbon granules to make this the best dang litter you will ever use. No smell after being used for weeks (forgot about the one in the basement...). I keep a hepa filter in my litter room as well but really unless you're a clean freak or have lung issues you really don't need it with this litter. Pros: No dust Limited tracking Great clumps Packaging is amazing tough plastic bag in a thick cardboard sleave. Good if you like to keep a box around for adding to the litter box. Cons: No odor control at all. It will smell the next morning if you don't scoop every day. Heavy (I just have my driver throw it in my driveway straight from the truck so I don't feel "as" bad ordering... Terrible for the environment and for distribution centers/employees everywhere. 5 stars if it had activated carbon granules. Total cost per bag is around $24-$25 after you add the 1lb of carbon. Worth it though.

This is some of the best kitty litter I have ever used! Kitty was happy. I loved it. Loved the size. No heavy fragrances. Great odor control.

My cat loves this litter more so than any other kind we used prior. I won’t be buying anything else. It’s also cheaper than tidy cats since it actually lasts the full month before needing to be changed. A 40 lb bag fills his box up once then top ups to maintain a 4 inch depth for the entire month. My cat is a Siamese tabby point weighing 10 pounds, he’s around 10 months old and is neutered. I use a large tote for his box to prevent kicked out litter. He’s a digger. I like to keep his box super clean, scooping multiple Times a day. It clumps super hard, a metal scoop may work better than plastic. As long as it’s 4 inches I’ve had no problem with pee sticking to the bottom like I did with other litters. The thought of febreZe and cat pee together makes my stomach turn now that I used this unscented. He prefers the unscented litter. He has never used outside of his box after neutering and getting this litter. I’ve tried both the classic and ultra dr. Elsey’s and don’t see a big difference in between them. The classic seems to be slightly larger rocks, the ultra seems to clump harder and produces a tiny bit more dust when pouring. I don’t see much tracking with either one and this was a huge inconvenience with other brands, he had it tracked all over the house. No issues with sticking to paw pads. This litter is straight clay rocks no additives and it really works. It’s the best litter we have tried, however I’m a new cat mom and this is my first time having a house cat I was always strictly a dog person. He’s a rescue and was just too pretty to leave alone. I have a French Bulldog girl, he’s essentially more like a dog than she is following my every move waiting by the door for me to come home. So I’d do anything for this cat. I researched litter trying to find something that other cat owners recommend and glad I tried this one. I will never go back to febreZe. I think the video speaks for itself in terms of how much he loves his litter when it’s freshly changed. He would take a nap in it.
