Walton Tools 18001 Tap Extractor set
This extractor tool set works great! I’ve been a Mechanic for over 60 years, and have been cussing broken taps for years. Not anymore! This Metric kit fits small to medium threads. Will also be buying an SAE kit next, before I need it for next time. They work that well! Grind flush, remove all debris, lube with penetrant, insert tool, back out broken tap, DONE!

Life saver
Literally the best 120$ I have ever spent, this tool saved my butt! Totally worth the money. Was high quality.

It worked. Saved $100's and hours of work.
Foolish me I buried an umbrella anchor in an 8” round 3’ deep hole and filled it with concrete. Only to find out the holes in the anchor plate did not line up with the umbrella base. It would have been an easy job to drill and tap new ones on a drill press. Much harder to do with a jury-rigged jig press. Four new holes, three of them tapped then [expletive deleted] the tap broke. I tried two “cheaper” options only to make things worse.Save your time and sanity and buy the right tool for the job.Oh, and check the holes on the plate before you dig the hole.

Worked exactly as described
Broke a tap a good 1/8 inch below the surface in a transmission. Broke 1 tab on the first try. Cut them to the same length and took my time setting the pin. Worked with a little bit of worry. Doubt the pins will last more than a few uses. Overall worth the cost.

Works as advertised
I was skeptical if this would actually work. Now, I did do a couple of extra things to get the broken tap out. The part was finish painted and I didn't want to screw that up. Applied a small amount of lubricant, inserted the tap extraction tool and then inverted a can of compressed air to freeze the tap. The Tap was broken into 3 parts but was fairly easy to remove.

Amazing tool for removing broken taps
I never do reviews BUT this tool worked better than I thought it could. I spent 4 hours trying to remove the broken tap and looked online and found this tool. It took 5 minutes to get the broken tap out. This tool worked so good I thought it was just slipping on the tap and when I removed the tool the broken tap was caught in the tool. This is the best tool ever for removing broken taps.

Best tool investment in 10 years
In the past sometimes I'd get lucky and be able to bust out broken taps, other times, I'd be able to drill thm out with a dremel tool. I should have had one of these kits a loooonnnngggg time ago. so easy, did not damage the threads I'd been able to cut. Broke off a 5/8-18 tap about 0.4" into the workpiece, this removed it in under 10 minutes. CLean out the hols/tap as well as you can ( I used a good magnet and brake cleaner to blast out any chips). Sink the flute fingers as deep as you can and slide the collar tight to the tap, using a light oil 'gently' rock the tap back and forth, easing it out.
