Works great, excellent customer support, but fragile.
I initially had doubts about this gadget. Had run across a number of reviews on devices that modulate brainwaves and the reports seemed to good to be true. Although the scientific literature suggested some effect it didn't seem dramatic enough to support the claims I was reading. (I'm a retired MD and born skeptic.) But since I had some spare cash in my entertainment budget ,Corona has been keeping my spending in check, I decided to give it a try. Limima seemed to be the best value. First the good news: It does just what it's supposed to. AT this point I've tried 15 to 20 of the preinstalled programs. The volume and brightness levels do need a little fine tuning to get the best effect. But when they're dialed in - Wow! Tried the "visualization" programs first. I wasn't expecting much but you really do get kaleidoscopic moving pictures. Some are very sharp and vivid. 30 minutes left me feeling relaxed and a little spacey. Like after a glass of wine maybe. The focus and alertness programs do that too but the visuals while there are not impressive. It is difficult to concentrate and focus with the relaxation programs running. (Can't do mindfulness meditation on this setting.) But I do feel relaxed and centered afterwards. With all the different programs available I suspect there is one to facilitate this. Just haven't found it yet. If this was the whole story it would earn five stars. Now the Bad Stuff: It arrived promptly by two day mail. Classy package. Fun unboxing. (The build quality seems on par with 1980s transistor radios.) Went to insert some batteries and found a mismatched pair of AAs already there. Nice surprise. But it didn't boot up. OK, fresh AAs - the old ones were dead tested and confirmed dead. Screen backlight lit up but it still wouldn't boot. On further investigation I noticed some minor damage to the packaging that I didn't cause. Maybe I got a repackaged demo model? Mindplace support was very friendly and helpful. I had a replacement unit and return shipping label within a week. Easy to use. Worked exactly as advertised - for three hours... Then the brightness button collapsed leaving it stuck on the dimmest setting. Mindplace was just as good to me second time around. The third attempt seems to have succeeded. Been using it for several days. Minimal battery drain. Running like clockwork so far. Fingers crossed... So, as much as I want to give it a top rating I have to be honest and say... Just Four stars. I would definitely buy one again though.

Love this thing!!!
I bought the Limina as a Procyon replacement, which I've used to de-stress during some difficult periods in my life. I must say I love this little device already--cool design, clear LCD display (the Procyon had a retro 3 digit LED), very colorful. And it includes all of the Procyon sessions, too! The addition of a manual frequency control mode is most welcome (the Procyon didn't have this), and I've just chilled with a 7.8 Hz session. Great product!

Life Changing
I suffered with insomnia for the longest time… all due to events in my life I couldn’t naturally flush out of my head without taking sleeping pills. The Goodnight program in this device was worth the price alone. It knocks me out within the first five minutes every time. No more sleep pills for me… Highly recommend!

Usefulness (by meditation practitioners)
4 points for the usefulness of the device. Good to pair up with the deep vision glasses. 2 things which the company can improve.1- improve the technology of the device. The device is getting outdated no matter system or the plug. Its 2025 now but the technology is like 15years ago. For the price the technology I think they can do better. 2- does not specify alpha, thela and delta frequency as a session so its a little no clue on that part. Overall the usefulness is great. I can feel the different on driving after couple days of usage

Recently went through an autistic burnout, was having issues always being tired but unable to sleep at night. I ended up having to change my sleep schedule, but this has helped dramatically with maintaining energy, especially throughout the day. I actually light the lights too.

I don’t often leave reviews, but I feel like I really had to leave one for this purchase. Backstory, I’ve always struggled with traditional meditation techniques due to my brain being very, very busy. It’s the kind of innate busy that doesn’t get better with meditation. Sometimes breathing techniques can help, but it can be hit or miss. I’ve often felt like I’m somewhat of a fraud for knowing so much about Meditation, but not being able to put it into practice for myself. Enter… The Limina! I have personally found this little device nothing short of miraculous. It gives me enough input with the lights and the pulsing, moving and changing tones and frequencies to keep focused and present enough to get though a 25- 35 minute session without much bother. This is something I’ve tried and failed to do for years. I’m over the moon that I have something that know I can turn to, no matter what state I am in. It’s pulled me back from some pretty uncomfortable and spikey situational anxiety, it’s made me feel so, incredibly relaxed before sleep. It’s a lovely morning pick me up. For me, it’s the whole package and it’s been immensely helpful. Pros: Small, light, sleek design. Clear instructions about how to use it. Good battery life. Lots of different options for specific focuses (sleep, focus, relax, unwind, mind art) Cons: It is rather expensive and for me, this was a massive splurge. I don’t regret it but was an awful lot of money. The menu system is adequate, but can be a little annoying to navigate. I’ve not been able to find any information on the attributes of the different frequencies for more focused sessions. All in all, I’m SO pleased with this purchase. It’s improved the quality of my life and deeply relaxed and restored me when I’ve desperately needed it. I wish I’d got one a long time ago when I first started looking. It’s a great source of comfort.

I own the MindPlace Kasina as well. I chose this to have a battery-powered unit to take when my Kasina is recharging. While the range of programs is lovely, i find I keep coming back to 10 hz in manual mode, as this alpha wave setting seems to produce the best visuals and mental recharge. Love this for neurodivergent support - enhancing focus while keeping my mind relaxed, helping with concentration without overstimulation.

This is an excellent device. Previously I've used a light therapy machine called Enkidu, (that is much more expensive and mounts on a tripod, with the user lying down at the edge of a bed) and found some benefits to light therapy. Mostly, it helps me meditate and relax, also I've used it as a form of psychotherapy. Limina is able to provide similar effects with some perks, like playing music simultaneously and most of all being able to use it on a couch in a sitting position. Although the technology is pretty old and could be updated and the price is still high, I give it five stars for the many features, practicality and convenience.

Product arrived on time, even 2 days ahead. Packaging intact. Used it a few times so far and it’s easy to operate. Manuals are simple and can be understood at the first time reading. So far, I’m pleased and amazed by the quality of the product. I look forward to train my brain so the Limina can be utilized everyday!
