Fresh and work well, "use by" date is difficult to read
These batteries have functioned well in the short time I have had them in use. The 4-packs are convenient, there has been no leakage, and the size has been fine. The battery life also seems to be fine, though I'll update this review if it is higher or lower than expected. The one minor issue with this product is the printed "use by" date. It's stamped in miniscule numbers on the bottom of the batteries, and I had to locate a magnifying glass to be able to read them. The dates were fine, but it shouldn't be this difficult!

So far very good battery performance!
Purchased these recognized brand Panasonic carbon zinc batteries for 4 analog clocks used to track various time zones in office. Batteries look legit produced by Panasonic and so far 4 of 20 batteries still working perfectly. In fact I set clock second hands almost the same when installed batteries for the 4 clocks and a weeks has passed and second all 4 clocks still perfectly in-sync! Of course this is partly due to accuracy/quality of the 4 clocks but this also shows the batteries are providing precise amounts of energy output to the clocks! Highly recommended carbon zinc batteries (good for analog clock accuracy) as my experience so far shows very good value for quality and amount of batteries. I've included a picture of the 4 clocks these batteries are being used in and you'll notice keeping the same second hand accuracy. The 4 'HZDHCLH Modern Wall Clocks Battery Operated,10 inch Black and Gold Clock for Wall,Silent Small Wall Clock for Living Room Bedroom Kitchen Office Nursery Decor' clocks I mentioned and shown in the photo was also purchased on Amazon here - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PDPC3HL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Great price no gimmicks
I live in Alaska, so sometimes getting batteries takes an act of GOD.. but these arrived in perfect condition, they work fine... I have a wall clock that cannot use alkaline batteries due to the fragile quartz mechanism.. this package should last a LONG time!

No corroded devices.
These do not last as long as Alkaline batteries, but do not corrode and destroy what they are in. They are fine for remote controllers, 3 cell AAA flashlights, testers, etc. Especially good in seldem used devices. Shelf life is good.

For low drain devices.
These old tech carbon zinc batteries don't have the strength of alkalines and aren't rechargeable but work best for low drain devices like clocks. Carbon zinc was recommended to me by a far east manufacturer of battery powered clock movements as best for their products and a told me specifically not to use alkaline or rechargeable batteries. Been using these Panasonics for years now, no leaks so far.

Doctor Leaky; Don't use Alkaline batteries in remote controls
I like to use Zinc batteries in items which sit around for long periods of time. Alkaline batteries provide peak power for longer periods of time but are no good for Remote Controls because they eventually LEAK all over delicate contacts and circuitry. Zinc batteries are best in items that sit for long periods of time between usage.
