As usual Dr Joe has provided the reader with an interesting collection of scientific explanations for lots of different items.

In this book, the author discusses the chemistry of food, with particular emphasis on what some members of the public believe to be true but isn’t. Throughout, the author does not pull any punches regarding the names of the myriad of chemicals that are part of our food or of food additives, fertilizers, etc. He discusses the scientific evidence on potential ill effects (or none) of some foods/chemicals in an effort to set the record straight.I enjoyed this book, although the many named chemicals found me skimming over some of the text. This book should be of interest to those with a passion for knowing the chemical nature of what we eat and whether it’s good for us or not and why or why not.

This is a great book that is a very easy read. I do not read very much at all, and this book only took me a few hours because I could not put it down. This is a terrible situation that happened to a very good person and his family. It is disturbing, and grabs your attention from the start to finish. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

This is not your typical book where the author attempts to be a know it all on the subject of what to consume. Basically, the facts are listed and it is backed by research from many sources. At times this can be somewhat technical but will hold your attention.

Great book and a true story. If you like crime stories you will like this book!

This book is definitely an easy and quick read, if you are looking to fill a few hours void in your schedule. That being said, it lacked in details and multiple times it was repetitive. Complete sections, toward the end, could have been left out, as it was the same thing over and over again. Respect and appreciation of the author using the book as an outlet for his disappointment and disgust in this little community's lack of motivation to investigate a murder. Writing was definitely therapy for the author and hopefully some healing came from pen and paper.

I am familiar with this case and was curious to read the book. I appreciate how the author wrote the book as the cases unfolded but I felt that author was unable to comprehensively tell a story. The writing was not very good. A lot of run on sentences. Also the book jumped around in the story and the tense it was using. The author came across as presumptuous and paranoid rather than precise and unemotional. The overall impression of the book is that the author felt like a victim of circumstances and was unable to convey the real life events seamlessly.

Great, well written insights by a real expert into a lot of food nonsense and fads.

As with all is books he has a way of answering your questions with science and humour
