2 x 35 mm Mounted Slide Holders (Positive), for OpticFilm 72~83 Series use only (8100 & 8200i & 8300i)

Definitely you will need these if you have hundreds of slides to scan - works great with the PlusTek 8300i. Will keep you busy loading slides while the others are scanning - saves a ton of time (and they are identical to the single one that came with the PlusTek.

I bought these slide holders to go along with the scanner and they work great. They allow me to load slides while I’m scanning in another holder.

Software installed fine from usb stick on my Mac Pro (High Sierra) and scans each take about a minute including adjusting frame and checking output name. 3600dpi scans to jpg are abt 10-18MB, I postprocess in Graphic Converter to reduce about 50%, set upright and recompress to about 1.5 to 2.5MB. Have managed to freeze the program twice in two weeks by going too fast but no problem. Generally I can slide the film holder to the next (excellent) notch and hit prescan as soon as the scan has hit 99% and you can hear the head reverse. Thanks to whoever suggested buying an extra package of film holders; scanner came with one of each (slide and negative) but I can go much faster with three. I have finished 2000 scans in two weeks but have barely scratched the surface of my project to digitize my family archive of three lifetimes worth of shutterbugging. I believe this scanner is up to the task. Lighting appears perfectly even corner to corner, color profile for film types included work very well with films I've scanned.

It works just fine - it is a replacement for the slide holder that came with the scanner.

These extra holders allow you to keep your slide copier busy without having to unload and reload after every 4 slides. This is a big factor when you have thousands of slides to read in and archive.

Had to scan thousands of slides. With these extra holders, I could easily set up the next holders while scanning the existing holder that’s in the scanner. Once you have a system down for scanning, it’s definitely a time-saver!

Used to hold slides and shoot with a digital camera using a light box. Works great, saved a lot of money. Used Adobe Elements to process pictures.
