Kimera Koffee Original Blend – Organic Medium Roast Nootropic Coffee with Alpha-GPC, Taurine, DMAE, L-Theanine, 12oz Ground

I was an energy drink and caffeine fiend. Drinking two Bangs a day, then weened myself off on three Monster Ultras a day and then decided I was wasting too much money on a bad addiction. I’ve always loved coffee but these were much more convenient, tasted good and were great during the hot summer days. However, I always felt better with coffee, always got more of a sharpness from it too, despite all the additional vitamins, and energizing additives in the drinks. Black Rifle Coffee Company has been my usual go to, especially their Fit Blend but I decided to try this after searching around for a coffee with something “extra” to it. Once I saw this stuff and read up on it, I knew I had to order it. Once I got the coffee, I gave it the smell test and it was rich and full aroma without being anything over-powering. I put the coffee in my new French press and set my kettle to 190 degrees. After pressing, I added a splash of whole milk (after trying it by itself) and the brewed smell was far better than a lot of store bought coffee I’ve tried, even some of the BRCC blends too. The flavor is ultra-smooth and not too heavy. I did three table spoons for about 22~24 oz of coffee and it seemed perfect (may need less for you). The feeling is unlike any coffee I’ve had before. There were no jitters or shakes or anything, just smooth, sharp, clear-headed energy but at the same time I felt like I was oddly relaxed. It’s hard to explain but you feel awakened in a new way. It’s not just an anxious, twitchy, mind-racing alertness, it’s different and hard to describe. You can tell this has more going on that just the bean itself. My ability to focus and how sharp I felt was far superior to even the best energy drink I’ve had. You feel ready to go and a smooth, refreshed feeling with a go-get-em readiness. Whether you’re going to the gym, heading to class or work, this will replace everything you’re taking currently to give yourself that needed boost, this stuff is the real deal and is far superior to the majority of coffee out there too. Only downside is that it is expensive but it’s far cheaper than buying multiple energy drinks a day and is far better for you down the road too. I feel happier and less irritable being finished with those and loyal to this product. It may be more easy to justify since you could potentially save more money if you’re also obsessed with additional supplements for focus/mood boosting/mild relaxation. Your mind will feel much clearer and boosted, plus you’ll be full of that good ol’ caffeine you know and love, along with all the additional nootropics and the essential parts of the bean that make the caffeine hit differently from the energy drinks. Do yourself a favor, get this stuff and stop buying your store brand and instant coffee, Folgers, Starbucks, Monster, Reign and Bang. You owe your mind and your body something that will be far more beneficial and nourishing.

So glad I was turned on to this product. Its my go-to on days I need to perform. Pros - Its good coffee. Tastes great. Its not the best I have ever had, but I'd give the quality itself a 7 out of 10. I think if it was whole bean and I ground it, it might be at a 9/10. I'm assuming they have to grind it to add the nootropics. The increased cognitive ability is absolutely there. I've messed with a lot over the years and and am familiar with nootropics so I know what to expect. You won't get an energy kick like a Redbull so don't expect that. I personally get a deeper focus and it takes me less time to get in a flow state. One cup is enough but two cups make me feel like a cyborg or something. Zero side affects. No headaches like I get from other nootropics. No crash later. Cons - Not enough to knock it down a star, but I prefer whole bean coffee. I get that might not be possible with this product but it would be a bit fresher if it was whole bean. I suppose I should look at it as I'm buying a cognitive enhancement tool, not just coffee. Then price. I think the price is fair for what you are getting. Its just a bummer that the price keeps me from being able to enjoy it everyday. Congrats to Kimera! I'll be a customer for a long time.

I waited until I had used all of the product. As a coffee addict and kind of a coffee connoisseur I need my morning Joe. This coffee tastes pretty good. Nice, mellow, and a good flavor. Not too strong and not bitter. For those who want a French roast or strong Sumatra blend, this won't be enough. It is a good flavor and nice smoothness. Does it wake me up more than coffee... maybe. I do think it has a little extra oomph in the morning. However, the price is kind of high. I may be it again if it gets on the subscription. Or as an occasional drink. But, overall, very pleased.

I delayed in writing a review after the first two days so that it could be on more than just taste alone. I have been trying to cut sugar out of my daily (coffee) routine for months. I have believed that it is just a battle of will to achieve this. I purchased this coffee for the mental benefits. I made my first cup and attempted to drink it sugar free, like I do every day, and expected to add sugar so that I would enjoy it. This, is the first coffee that I have tried, and there have meet many, that was delicious and gave me no desire to doctor it up. I was blown away. I thought my sugar addiction had more to do with my will power than brand of coffee. What a surprising and unexpected benefit. Then, I was mad. Because this coffee is pricier then others, and I knew I was going to have to purchase it going forward on taste alone! Fingers crossed for obvious nootropic benefits. So here I am a week later, and I am in love. I have noticed that not only is the flavor amazing, but I have none of the coffee jittery, stomach pain that has been plaguing me for the last year or so. I notice a definite boost in mental clarity and sustained energy. I FEEL better! It is exciting and I can not wait to share this product with friends and family.

I became interested in "Bulletproof Coffee" or "Fatty Coffee" -- you find a low-mycotoxin coffee, and brew it, then mix in some butter and coconut oil or MCT oil (refined coconut oil). This does several things -- (a) you avoid allergic reactions to the mycotoxins (which are common in coffees, especially cheap blended coffees), (b) the addition of the fats provides energy, kills your early-morning appetite, and triggers your body to go into fat-burning mode. This enables you to skip breakfast, and for many of us, we don't get hungry till past noon. Because the body was designed to eat only now and then (not all day long), this is easier on your digestive system, reduces your over-calorie daily intake, and again promotes your body to burn off excess fat. In other words, by eating less often, you have an easier way to eat less. And by using "fatty coffee," many people find it much easier to eat less often, simply by extending the nightly "fast" from 8-9 hours up to 14-18 hours by skipping the early meals which do not actually benefit us, because we were not designed to eat all day long. The proof of all this is when you give it a try, but if interested, search for "intermittent fasting," and "fatty coffee." A fellow named Dave Asprey coined the term Bulletproof Coffee, and he sells it as a brand, and it must be ground as it's sold as beans. However, I ran across this Kimera Koffee, and was intrigued by the nootropics added into the coffee, plus for my early morning coffee, it is already ground. It is a single-estate coffee, which generally correlates with lower toxin counts, so I gave it a try. I get up, brew a cup of this, and go walk the dogs, where I do some mild tension exercises as we walk in the nearby park. A great wake up! My Conclusion? This is some great coffee. Yes, it costs a little more than supermarket cheap brands, but it provides a safe and effective morning wake-up beverage, has low toxins, and it's WONDERFUL for the intermittent-fasting fatty coffee approach. I recommend it. Five Stars.

So im deciding to review now that I've finished my second ordered bag of this coffee. I read into this brand before trying it out and it seemed like a great thing to try as im compounding it with bulletproof (i.e. adding butter and mct oil) the taste is pretty great and it gives me a pretty good boost of energy in the morning. Here's the thing though, I don't think the price matches what you get in return. Admittedly I am not a coffee person, I can't tell you the difference between coffee grown on one mountain to another or w/e gourmet coffees try to make them unique. I had to switch to Folgers country roast last week after having run out of Kimera and well...not wanting to spend another 23/24 bucks on 12 ounces of grounds and honestly, I've yet to notice a distinct enough difference in my routine to justify going back. I do add a tablespoon or two more of the Folgers roast if I want more energy but honestly its like 8 or 9 bucks for 2 pounds of the stuff. If you're looking for cost to benefits in your coffee you gotta ask yourself if the price is worth it because hey its great coffee but the other things they tout Kimera having is questionable, even in the organic/free trade market I think you can find better alternatives. If you're already looking to spend 20+ on a ground coffee though I would say this is the best for you.

Oh yes, this dear coffee to my heart, what can I say to Express my deep feeling to this chemical harmony of coffee blend, I have brewed this in my aero press, and my manual drip, while aero press provides the best taste, drip still makes a great cup from this coffee, the taste is subtle and very earthy, aroma is satisfying, there are special notes of taste that distinguish this coffee from all others I had tried before, in a very pleasant way, after effects, aside from enjoying this delicious coffee, the effects it gently introduce is far more important, it doesn't give a 'jolt' like effect like others, instead it ramps up your systems in a controlled manner, in other words your brain is will be prepared for the power delivery its about to receive, and then the energy you feel is translated in focus, calmness and determination, I accept my day after drinking a cup of this, I accept people, and I accept working, never have I accepted these before, this has now become my only preferred coffee, and am so glad I have finally found it, the price is a bit on the high side but I dont really have a complaint about that, am nitpicking at this point.

Kimera has been a real game changer for me. I am in the camp that believes coffee is healthy, although too much is probably not the best for you. With this coffee I have found a very smooth pick up and drop off of energy that has helped me have an appropriate amount of coffee. I no longer have the afternoon need for an espresso which has been great for my health and my wallet! The theanine is a great addition and I wont be changing my coffee anytime soon! If you're skeptical because of the cost just try it, if you're like me you'll find you need less of it which has actually been a net positive to my bank account! Great product, and the cacao booster is great tasting and goes together with it very well!

Fantastic Stuff - An absolute must before any training! I normally ride/cycle anywhere between 30 to 100 miles 3 times a week with a pacy club ride on a Sunday morning. A mug of this keeps me focused - it basically does what it says on the packet!! Highly recommended from this corner, worth every penny!!

Fast delivery, great taste. I received the coffee in the afternoon and thought I’d have a cup before hitting the gym and did a personal best in deadlifts. Wakes me in the morning and gets me going.

Great product and good value

Not convinced. Taste wasn’t the best and can’t say I noticed anything different that cheaper coffee.
