Obagi CLENZIderm M.D. Pore Therapy Exfoliating BHA Toner - Unclogs Pores with 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment – 5 oz

After reading reviews, I decided to purchase this toner. However, right after I submitted the order I saw reviews of receiving inauthentic product. I became nervous and mad at myself for not ordering from Obagi's website. You don't know how relieved I was when I saw that the CLENZIderm I received was the real deal. CLENZIderm is a skin saver. My skin is super sensitive and dry. I get hormonal acne from time to time and acne just because that's what my face wants to do that day. I'd been searching for a toner and was delighted when I saw CLENZIderm. Two birds with one stone; a toner with acne relief. I received it right on time as I had 3 active areas. I used the toner the next morning. I was already familiar with "push" dispensers so it was no problem. However I do suggest turning the bottle upside-down when you push so the dribble goes onto your cotton pad and not down the bottle. The smell is off putting for sure, and lasts several minutes, but the cooling sensation is an even trade for me. The sensation makes the application of other products feel more effective. This toner picks up all the dirt and residue left by my cleanser (my skin is too sensitive to double cleanse). When I got home from work, the 3 spots on my face were gone! I have used the toner 3 mornings straight (I do not use PM). No irritation, no dryness, no negative reaction whatsoever. My skin loves to embarrass me so if there was to be a reaction, it would have happened Day 1. In all fairness, I do use Dermalogica's Stabilizing Repair Cream (a MUST for sensitive skin) and a couple different moisturizing/dehydration products, so I wouldn't know if CLENZIderm is drying. BUT I do know this product is a Winner. It compliments my skin and care routine perfectly. UPDATE 9/30/23 CLENZIderm is amazing. My skin is GORGEOUS. I had awful blackheads on both sides of my nose (close to corner of eyes). I was resigned to live with them forever because nothing I did made them go away. After two weeks, all blackheads have disappeared! Unbelievably clear, smooth, soft skin. Still no irritation or dryness with daily AM use and occasional PM use. Still in love with the cooling sensation that lasts for hours.

A Salicylic Acid product has been part of my daily regimen for over 17 years. And I can say that I've tried them all, from Clearasil, Clean & Clear, generic, facial scrubs, creams, etc. etc. This product is far and away the BEST Salicylic acid product I've EVER used. I know you might think that 2% Salicylic acid is 2% Salicylic acid and so why would it matter? I asked myself the same thing and all I can think is that maybe either because this is a pure liquid form (looks like water) that is gets into the pores more effectively?? Either that or maybe some of the other ingredients (like the Menthol) work in tandem with the acid? Who knows, all I can say is that this stuff works great for me. Like any 2% Salicylic acid product, this can irritate your skin if your skin is not used to 2% Salicylic acid, but as someone who's used it for many years, I can say this product isn't any more or less irritating. The menthol however does create a "cooling" sensation on the skin for up to 1 hour later, which at first I thought was a "burning" sensation, but you get used to that too, and it's just the cool menthol working. I can't speak to any other products by this manufacturer, I've never used any, but this product is great. My ACNE KILLING DAILY REGIMEN (perfected over many years) - WORKS GREAT (using the EXACT products listed makes a difference) - AND YOU MUST FOLLOW EVERY STEP, EVERY DAY! If you do, I assure you, your acne should be a thing of the past, even mild cases of cystic acne respond well to this regimen! MORNING: 1. WASH - Clean & Clear Essentials Foaming Facial Cleanser (its only purpose is to clean dirt/oil and kill bacteria) 2. WASH - Clean & Clear Oil Free Deep Action Cream Cleanser (cleans deep and also has some Salicylic acid) 3. TREAT - apply Obagi Medical Clenziderm M.D. Pore Therapy Salicylic Acid 2% Acne Treatment, don't be skimpy with it. Give it at least 5 minutes to absorb. 4. MOISTURE - (this step is CRUCIAL) apply "Organic Jojoba Oil" to face (only 4-5 drops should do) (I use dessert essence brand) work it in to your face good - NOTE, jojoba oil is really wax, not oil, but looks like oil it is very close to your skins own natural oil (sebum) and so it tricks the skin into thinking it's fully moisturized and reduces its own oil production (which normally leads to clogged pores). Seriously, google "jojoba oil for acne" and check yourself, this stuff works miracles and keeps your face moisturized. Sure, it will also make your skin a little shiny, but would you rather have shiny skin, or acne skin? And girls, you can apply makeup OVER the jojoba oil. NIGHT: 1. WASH - Clean & Clear Oil Free Deep Action Cream Cleanser 2. TREAT - apply Benzoyl Peroxide (10%) cream (I use Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10). Again, don't be shy with it. REPEAT EVERY DAY! And also, DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE! This transfers dirt and bacteria.

I love this product. It has made such a difference reducing my pore size. I highly recommend it.

It cleanses the face so thoroughly. My face is extremely clean and fresh. It even handles mild acne. Do not use everyday or your face will dry out. I would start with every other day to see how it does on your skin. I have very sensitive skin and use it every other day. My husband even uses it and loves it.

This stuff is magic. Keeps my skin clear and is a great base before I put on my other skin products

I've had clear skin all my life and started breaking out a little over a year ago. I know that's not a long time but I honestly couldn't stand it and had to find something to fix it. I got topical prescriptions, tried a million over-the-counter solutions, diet solutions, etc.... nothing really too drastic but I tried A LOT and nothing worked. I randomly found out about Clenziderm and tried it because of all the reviews and it is the best thing I could have done. I've been using it for about a month and yesterday, I went outside with no makeup on for the first time in over a year!!! It is a miracle product. There are a couple things that people should know about before going into it though, because I went through some things while first using the product that, if other people experienced them, may deter people from seeing the product all the way through to the clear skin part! It definitely dries your face out when you first start using it. I didn't start using the system twice a day until I was about 3 weeks in, and even then, I don't use the lotion twice a day because that, for me, is what really did the dried out my face. I use a good moisturizer with it during the day after everything has dried/settled on my face just to counteract the drying effect, and ever since I started doing that I don't really see flakes on my skin during the day. All that said, I don't care about a little temporarily dry/flaky skin when I get results as good as these. I haven't seen too many other people post about this, but after about a week of using the product, I had a huge flare up of acne. Prior to this, the acne I got was always the under the skin kind, but this flare-up was huge, red, painful bumps all over my face. It was awful and lasted about a week and a half but then everything subsided. I like to think that it was just my skin purging itself due to the new treatment maybe? But it did go away and now my skin is clear. Not the worst thing to endure for 1.5 weeks to get to the end result. I'll definitely be purchasing this system again to help maintain the results I'm seeing already!

It was recommended to me by an anesthetistian and use it day and night. It does help my pores and prevents mist of my acne.

I have been on the Clenziderm system two months now, and I believe it is working for my mild to moderate hormonal acne. It did dry out my skin considerably at first, even using the product every other day, so I purchased the Clenziderm Therapeutic Moisture separately, and I believe that is a must have if you buy this product -regardless of how oily your skin is (I am medium to dark complected and very oily). The toner and therapeutic lotion does burn a bit at first, but that subsided for me after about a week. I cannot say it has cleared up my skin 100%, but it has helped more so than Murad and Rodan and Field's Umblemish did. I got a glycolic peel recently and was not able to use any of the Clenziderm 3-step system for 3 days prior and 5 days afterward (per my Dr.) and in that time I did break out slightly, so my guess is that you do need to follow it continuously or you will be prone to break out. I have worked up to using this once a day as my nighttime regimine, and have no problems with burning or over drying. I will say that honestly, the best remedy for my hormonal acne has been taking the prescription drug, Spironolactone. If you are constantly battling hormonal acne, I suggest talking to your doctor about starting Spironolactone, and using Clenziderm as your topical treatment.
