Not a lot of choices out there but I suppose for a machined part it is priced acceptably. There could be a small amount of runout but have been able to li e with it on a wood lathe.

A lot of Money for Something that is Terribly Innacurate
I used this adapter to mount a 1-1/14" Nova chuck to a 1" 8tpi lathe spindle. There was visible wobble in the chuck and I knew something was really wrong. I ran some tests with an indicator on a spindle that has under 0.0002" of runout (and the runout on that spindle was actually oriented to favor the error on the Nova adapter). The Nova adapter has 0.010" of runout on the thread body - that is visible wobble and totally unacceptable. I measured 8 thou of runout in the interior of the adapter and over 9 thou on a known good 1-1/4" 8tpi faceplate (the same faceplate has under 1 thou of runout on my 1-1/4" spindle lathe). If you have 10 thou of runout just in this adapter, that could easily mean 1/32" or maybe 1/16" or more out on the part you are turning.For a $45 part, this thing should be accurate to a couple tenths, but the error is 50x that.Another thing that bothered me is the bevel on the front edge of the 1-1/4" threads - it looks like someone just free-handed this with an angle grinder.Even if you gave this adapter to me for free, I'd still be searching for a replacement.

A Precision Adapter
I recently got a new lathe which had a bigger spindle size than the old one so, since adapters are way cheaper than new chucks 'n things I added this one to my kit. I just got it 2 days ago and used it to mount the 1-1/4" faceplate mounted bowl on my 1" live chuck mount to the tailstock in order to flip the bowl onto my vacuum chuck. It showed no noticeable runout and went on and came off just fine. All went well.I went with this brand because I knew Nova hardware would fit and work. "Cry once" and all that you know.Pros: Simple item with no surprises and worked as intended.Cons: NoneI would wholeheartedly recommend this friends, family, and anyone else who asks.
