Frozen Sky 4: Battlefront (the Europa Series) Paperback – May 23, 2019

The author passed away before he could write the last few chapters, but it still reads like a full novel with summaries of the last few chapters.I'll admit the series didn't end the way I wanted it to. The first third of the book was all about humans and all I wanted was sunfish. The love triangle felt forced.The second third of the book was awesome. Sunfish and action.The end was not what I expected or wanted to happen, but I think it makes sense and it's not wholly unsatisfying. It was engaging and again had good action.This was a solid series. Lots of good biology and danger in the Europan ice with real stakes.

Frozen Sky: Battlefront, the fourth and final volume of Jeff Carlson's Europa Series, has been published. You must read this book. It's his last work, and like everything he wrote, it's wonderful.

I liked the last book of the series the best as they explore the ocean. I will say that the whole story could’ve been told in one or two books instead of four books. While the series was well written I felt that the author dragged the story on too long just to have more books.

I am a big fan of Jeff Carlson's work. This book differs from the others in that there is not as much page turning action. The first several chapters deal with Vonnie's internal turmoil. The last few chapters are basically a dialogue of explanations. In the middle there is some interesting action but that's all. It's a fine read but not as compelling as the other books by this author.

Loved the story line through all of the books, until the very end of the arc. The ending was a bit of a let down. I had imagined a quite different ending. I sort of share Vonnie's disappointment.

The ending seemed rushed. After reading the whole series it seemed to end weirdly, I don't know if the author died or what and the end was pieced together somewhat anticlimactically.

Great book to finish the series. It was too bad the author did not live long enough to complete the story fully, but the included outlines for the final few chapters helped to visualize how he was going to finish the story.
