Field Guide to Polarization (SPIE Vol. FG05)

Nice "pocket" reference.
If you wear a lab coat this is a great pocket reference for refreshing yourself, to start writing a MatLab function, and a daily working reference of available tools. This is not an applications reference, but a principles reference. It could serve as a nice concise supplement to a text for someone taking a course in optics, fewer pages to flip through to find the right equation. This is not a teach yourself text for polarization.

Best short book (pp134) on polarization
If your local (university) doesn't have Dennis Goldstein's "Polarized LIght" (pp. 651), Colllett's may serveyour purposes at reasonable cost. I am glad I bought the Field Guide -- one of SPIE series. It has a greatindex.

As expected
Book is as expected, and expectations were clear thanks to the preview possibility of "Look Inside!".Spiral-bound is a bit uncommon, but very handy for this kind of compact references.
