2/16/16 - This is truly amazing stuff!
2/16/16 - Eyelash Growth Serum for Long Eyelashes From Uptown CosmeceuticalsThis is truly amazing stuff!First, let me say, no one has bribed me, coerced me, or given me freebies or a discount for my review. This is my honest experience since I received this product in January 2016.I have always had short eyelashes. When I've used an eyelash curler in the past, my eyelashes looked nice to those standing directly in front of me, but from the side, my lashes looked unnaturally and abruptly turned upwards. I'm Japanese and have a very slim, below-the-crease eyelid, which means the upper eyelid area is substantially larger. With age, my upper eyelid has gotten heavier and a bit droopy, smothering my eyelashes. I always figured, "that's life."Well, years ago my niece was going to try an eyelash growth serum, but was told she needed to see her eye doctor before they would give it to her. When she saw her eye doctor, she discovered that she had an eye problem that prevented her from being permitted to use the eyelash growth serum (not this particular eyelash growth serum. I think it must have been a prescription, back then. That's why she had to see her eye doctor before they'd give it to her.) Her eye medication had the same ingredient as the eyelash growth serum, so she could not use both. Several months ago, she told me about this and she said that her medication actually made her eyelashes grow.A few weeks back, I was searching Amazon for mascara and I ran across these eyelash growth serums. I had no idea what the "active ingredient" was that made them work, so I had no idea what to buy, especially since there were so many to choose from. I suppose I could have done an "eeny, meeny, miney, moe", but I read the reviews on a few. There were a couple where the serum was to be applied directly to the lashes. Perhaps, they work; I don't know. But, what I do know is the hair, itself, is dead; its growth occurs within the hair follicle beneath the surface of the skin. Perhaps, the eyelash-applied serums are designed to slide back down the lashes to reach the skin and then seep into the hair follicle. It makes sense until you think about applying mascara--it would cover-up the serum. If the ultimate goal is for the serum reach the skin to bathe the hair follicle, why not apply it directly to the skin? So, this helped me with my selection. When I reviewed this particular eyelash growth serum, most of the reviews were pretty good. The company, Uptown Cosmeceuticals made some fairly solid declarations: up to 25% thickness and length after two weeks, and 75% increase after six weeks of regular use. Of course, "up to" does not exclude 1% thickness & length, but the 25% & 75% measures were an impressive possibility. The clincher was the company's guarantee: if you're not completely satisfied, they'll refund your purchase. Another thing: all of the pictures--many reviewers provided pictures of the progress of their eyelash growth--a week, two weeks, three weeks, etc. Plus, so many reviewers stated that they saw increased lash length within a few days. I figured, what the heck; I've wasted more than $20 on useless stuff. I might as well try it.I wish I had taken pictures, too. I know this sounds absurd, but I'd swear that my eyelashes grew after the first application ... I mean, a noticeable length. After four days, I could see them just peaking out from my upper eyelid. I received the serum on Jan 27th. Today is Feb 16th. My eyelashes are about 1/8" above my upper eyelid--no exaggeration. Now, when I use my eyelash curler, instead of a single abrupt bend in my eyelashes, I have enough lash to place several soft bends to give my lashes a natural curl. I'm truly amazed! My eyelashes were always so short. Now, I literally have something to flutter. There's something about eyelashes that makes a woman feel feminine. After two weeks, when I knew there was growth, that it wasn't my imagination, I started applying the serum to my eyebrows. I have a relatively large, bald scar where I was hit on my brow-bone with a rock, and the outer edges of my eyebrows thinned out after I went through "the change." I was curious to see if it would help. It's only been a week, but there's definitely an improvement. It's not clear to me if there is new hair growth, but my existing brow hairs are definitely longer. The extra length covers the scar in my left brow so well, that a couple of times, I turned to my right brow to look for the scar--it wasn't as blatantly obvious as it has been for the last 40 years! There is one recommendation I'd make to anyone who tries this serum:After two weeks, I noticed that my lashes on the left seemed to be slighly longer than those on my right. I think this was because I was applying the serum to my left lash-line, first. Without re-dipping the brush into the serum, I'd apply the serum to my right lash-line. I think my right lashes weren't getting as much of the serum, as the left. So I started applying the serum to the right lash-line, first. Once my lashes appear equal in length, I'll alternate which lash-line I apply the serum first, or re-dip the brush to give each lash-line a full brush of the serum. One last idea: another reviewer said that once her lashes reached the length she desired, she reduced her application of the serum to once a week. I thought that was a good idea.To anyone who purchases this serum because of my contribution to its accolodes, I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

Bye Bye beautiful full and long lashes and brows.... until we meet again :(
My longest lashes all fell out and I'm left with my original thin and stubby ones. I've used Lilash for many years, and was SO sad when they left the USA and now they don't ship here. It is expensive, but WOW it works. I had purchased several tubes when I got the sad news, but sadly, my stock is now gone. This has left me in the position of now finding a new lash and brow growth product. I saw some positive reviews of this, so I gave it a shot. Unfortunately, as soon as I started using it, my gorgeous super thick and double long lashes all started falling out and getting thinner and shorter, and shorter still. My brows are thin, fine and lighter in color. I continued to use it, hoping that it just worked through another mechanism and they would grow back, but that has not happened. I'm SO SAD! I really want some higher quality eyelash serum choices.....

Not my favorite lash serum
This is the second brand of eyelash growth serum I've tried, and decided to try this brand because it was considerably cheaper. This is another example of "you get what you pay for".In the past I have used Rapidlash. I was amazed at how long and full my lashes were after only a few weeks. I'd say it took about 3 weeks for it to really show, and the results were amazing. Over time I got a little lazy and took my new full, long lashes for granted and stopped using Rapidlash. Gradually my lashes returned to their normal short, thin condition.I knew I needed to start using lash growth serum again and decided to try Uptown Eyelash Growth Serum. It was cheaper, and advertised longer, thicker lashes in just two weeks. It's been about 3 weeks ... and, yes, my lashes are somewhat thicker and longer. If I hadn't tried Rapidlash in the past, I would think lash serum a waste of money. Not really enough difference to justify the price or inconvenience. What this experience did show me is that there are great lash serums out there, this just doesn't appear to be one of them.

The Jury is Still Out..
The shipping was very fast from this company and I like the personal emails the company sends directly to you.I bought this product after wearing Eyelash Extensions for about 3 months. I removed the extensions and my eyelashes were much shorter than what they were before I tried the extensions. Don't believe when they say wearing extensions will not damage your regular lashes. Mine were extremely short and very thin.I was excited to use this product to hopefully get my eyelashes to grow faster.Unfortunately, however, I cannot recommend the product. I did not notice any difference in the length of my lashes. Also, my eyes became very red. Therefore, I stopped using the product after about 3 weeks.I'll have to look for something that doesn't irritate my eyes.

Actually seems to work but STINGS! 3.5 stars
So I have to say, it seems like this product actually works. My lashes were great before I had kids but ruined by pregnancy. Since pregnancy, they have been sparse in places and shorter than they used to be. Depressing. This formula seems to be actually helping. I've been using it for 6 weeks I think, at night. The only bad thing about it: no matter how careful I am about applying it, somehow some gets in my eyes--and it stings. Seriously.I've also found my eyelid skin to be a bit sensitive alone my lash line--itchy or irritated. So I take a few days off every week or so. Seems to help.Still, for these results without hormones, I'll keep using it.
