I bought this while looking for new hobbies to try. I plan on using it to pinpoint the metal in a plug from a larger detector. I have used it in the backyard and around various materials and can say that it does exactly what it's supposed to. It has 3 different modes, audio, vibrate, and a combo of the two to alert you. It increases frequency the closer you get to your metal object so it's pretty foolproof to use. It also has an led light that shines forward and comes with both a lanyard plus a belt holster so you won't lose it. I can't comment on water as I won't be using it in that capacity but it's a solid choice.

Works great to zero in on stuff, but the battery compartment could use some help. Since I had to change the battery the first time, it doesnt want to work half the time. The battery doesnt stay connected in the end for some reason. I found one certain brand name battery doesnt work at all. Its baffling. A 9 bolt should be a 9 volt. Period. Not the case with this. The cheaper offbrand batteries work. The brand name I tried (and I tried 3 different new ones of the same brand) did not work. I tried an offbrand one and it worked. They dont last long and you have to shake it to get it to work half the time, bit ot will turn on and work for awhile. Kinda sucks, because I really like it.

I bought this to find nails and other construction debris in my lawn from when I had my windows replaced. It worked great, easy pinpointing the location of nails. I'm not sure how deep an item can be and still be found but for things near the surface it worked well for me. As an added bonus my kids enjoy playing with it and searching for a buried treasure. I hope they find one.

I needed to do some digging in my backyard due to a recent construction. Having to find nails and metal to make sure my dogs were not injured by this. This tool help me get more than 20 nails hiding in the grass. And it makes it easier since batteries are included!

Going to find out soon as my son in law and I go metal detecting. Not looking for sunken treasure chests, just some coins and rings.

Not as sensitive as described. Will barely read small metal objects unless your within a inch or less so do not buy this if you are prospecting for gold. Works ok for larger metals. Covered some smaller objects in dirt and it didn’t sound the alarm at all. Wouldn’t waste your money.

Product arrived on time and in good condition. It's very easy to use. It has one button, so not much room for confusion as far as operation goes. It's not the best metal detector but it does work and it definitely can be helpful. It tells you there's metal but not any hint what kind or size. It's way better than not having one at all though that's for sure. It does a good job of pointing you in the right general direction of where to look. And then it's a complete suprise what you end up finding. But some surprises can be good others a bit disappointing. I've found quite a few bottle caps. It's lite wieght and easy to carry. Can really take it anywhere which is definitely a plus. So far I like it and it's worked well for me. For the price it's a great buy.
