Brilliant!
I just got this a few hours ago and I’ve already made three dozen of these to put in the refrigerator so I can just pop one in my mouth in the morning with coffee. It is absolutely effortless and the cooking is beyond what I could’ve ever done. I’ve been making egg bites in the oven for years. It’s messy, it’s time consuming and I used muffin liners and it’s hard to get them apart. This solves all of my problems and I’m never going back. Plus, the fact that the eggs are steamed makes all the difference in taste and and texture. Clean up is a breeze. Why did I wait so long to buy this? Go get yourself one.

TINY little cups, but you can make egg bites to rival Starbucks
I am a Starbucks egg bites lover, and I've never been able to duplicate the soft, creamy recipe at home using my Instant Pot or oven. I wanted to give this product a try since supposedly "sous vide" is what gives that texture! Overall, this product is great. It comes with some recipes, but I found I had to tweak them a little to get the consistency and taste I was looking for, but I think I got it! I can now make them to taste almost identical to Starbucks, with that same consistency (tips at the end of this review if that's what you're looking for too). It comes with a larger silicone cup and 4 minis. The minis are SMALL...much smaller than I expected. Because of that, if you are using 4 eggs like their recipes call for, you will be making quite a few batches. But no big deal. There is no on/off switch on this. You plug it in, and it's on. The one thing I wish it had was an easier way to take the hot silicone cups out when they are finished. I don't want to leave them on the cooker while it cools off, as it will just make the eggs cook more, so I needed to pinch the tiny handles to pick them up. It's hot! Other than that, I really like this little machine. I used cooking spray in the cups as suggested, and the egg bites fell right out with ease. So far I have not used it for anything besides egg bites, but the instruction manual that comes with it gives other suggestions, like cheesecake. They would be TINY Cheesecake bites if you use the small cups! If you are looking for the consistency and taste of Starbucks egg bites, here's what I did to get it: - I TRIPLED the amount of cottage cheese suggested in their recipe book. - I didn't cook them as long as suggested. I pre-heated the machine and maybe cooked them for 5-6 minutes, instead of 10 minutes. (The machine directions say that if you pre-heat, it cuts down on your cooking time, but it doesn't say by how much, so it's a guessing game of trial and error) Overall, a great little machine that is small enough that it doesn't take up much room in my already cramped kitchen and allows me to save money by not going to Starbucks as often!

Great little appliance, excellent for Grilling ... BUT doesn't have on/off switch
I just began using this little appliance and absolutely love it! The first thing I made was a grilled cheese sandwich, which came out perfect - melted cheese on the inside and toasted bread on the outside. Yummy! Per the instructions, I used nonstick cooking spray on both surfaces, which made cleanup a breeze. My second venture was egg bites, which came out fantastic. As other folks have mentioned, the cups are TINY. However, the egg bites are packed with protein and a little goes a long way. I used 3 eggs and added tomatoes, fresh herbs and grated cheese. The end result was 12 little egg bites that I'm storing in the fridge. Per the instructions, fill up each cup about 75% since the eggs will expand as they cook. Similarly, Dash recommends spraying the silicone cups with some cooking spray, which makes them pop out with zero effort. Cleanup for the egg bite function is also fast and easy. The appliance is small, cute and easy to use. It's perfect for feeding 1-2 people. If you need a higher capacity device, Dash makes a larger model that may be better suited for your needs. The only reason why I"m deducting a star is the lack of an on/off switch. Why they didn't include one boggles the mind. Suggestion: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS to make sure you're using it properly for each application.

Why didn’t I get this sooner?
OMG - so glad I purchased this. It is super cute, super easy to use, and cleanup is a snap. I’ve had this on my wishlist for a couple years and finally bought it as an after Christmas present to myself. Why did I wait so long? I’m saving money over buying pre-made egg bites and even I - a self-confessed non-morning person and non-chef - can make a healthy breakfast, clean up, and be out of the house on time for work. Extra bonus - it comes with a recipe booklet that includes more than just egg recipes. My only very minor criticism is that it does not automatically shut off, so I have to pay attention and make sure I unplug it when I’m done.

mini egg cooker
Ok... Here is what I think about this ... In the end, it's not for me... but I try to be fair in my rating. PROS: -It baked scrambled egg mixture (I added a bit of cheese, green onions and about 1 tbls of 1/2 and 1/2) - NOTE: 2 eggs is two cooking cycles as it fills 7 cups - you can cook 4 mini cups or 1 big cup at a time. It did take about 11 minutes (10-12 is on the instructions) for each batch. Also - you should know the base will turn off and on several times during cooking - at first I thought it had died. -I spritzed a tiny bit of olive oil in each mini cup and they popped right out - Clean up was an easy wipe with a warm paper towel AFTER it had cooled off. - I haven't tried the custard recipe.. but maybe this would be the best of this unit - because it would make little tiny custard or cheesecake bites - again tho, for 1 or 2. CONS... - Unless you're cooking for just one, it will take a very, very long time to get breakfast done. - Cooking was a bit irregular in temp... the bite (mini cups) are about 2" in diameter and about 1/2" thick. A couple were not fully cooked inside - while others were very cooked. In my personal opinion... it takes me about 3-5 minutes to scramble some eggs for myself and another person. Sure, it's not fancy little bites... but I am in and out of the kitchen even with cleanup! So... while this is a cute little unit.. it's bit too much work (mostly in cooking time) for the payoff. Just my opinion. Why 5 stars? Because it works and I try very hard not to rate on personal opinion.

Not Completely Thought Out by Designers...Was It Tested?
I sometimes wonder if products are truly tested before being released by the manufacturer. In this case, those who developed this, do they cook very much? This product has a great concept and works very well for making a variety of egg bite recipes. Once you break a couple of eggs, it takes at least 2 cooking cycles to use up just eggs. If you want to make the bites with meat, cheese or veggies added to the mixture, it takes even longer because the additions take up so much space in the silicone cups. I have used this a couple of times & though the egg bites turn out great and nicely uniform in size & texture, it takes forever to cook all of the egg mixture. If I didn't really like the bite size that this appliance makes, I would just cook the eggs in a cupcake pan as I have done in the past. (This appliance makes bites that are about the size of a silver dollar & about 1/4 - 1/2" thick if you add milk & a pinch of baking soda to the egg mixture.) I like the ideas offered in the enclosed cookbook, size of the silicone cups and the speed and ease of using this product. Should the manufacturer ever get to see this review, I hope the company will consider making a larger unit so at least a couple of eggs could be cooked all in one cooking cycle. With the hours I work, I often eat breakfast at work and it is something I cook in advance & take with me. When I am prepping a couple of future meals, I like to press the "easy" button. This is why I bought the appliance in the first place but I am not overly thrilled with the purchase. It would be absolutely fabulous if it were bigger & with more silicone cups.

Fabulous invention, but don't use distilled water in it!
I LOVE this egg-bite maker and it makes a great gift for anyone starting a Keto diet. But I learned, the first time I used it, that you CANNOT use distilled water for the water they tell you to pour into the cooker. It seemed logical to use distilled water, to keep the cooker from getting a mineral crust over time, since we have hard water. But distilled water takes a significantly higher temperature to create steam. The instruction booklet says the eggs are ready when the water has vaporized away, but I kept opening the unit--after the expected 10-12-minute cooking time--and there was the same amount of water in the unit that I started with, even after 17 minutes. The eggs were clearly cooked, so I took them out. This does not detract from the five stars, because it's just science, not a defect in the unit. But I hope that the next time Dash updates its instruction booklet, they will add this fact! Surely I am not the only customer who has other appliances--aroma diffusers and humidifiers--that do better with distilled water to prevent mineral buildup. But for the egg bite maker, use regular tap or bottled water -- not distilled! The egg bites come out delicious and great for Keto. I used chopped green onion, sharp, grated cheddar, and a pinch of Aleppo pepper for mine. Make them in the morning and take them to work for lunch or snacks. Two more pieces of advice -- again, these do not detract from my five-star opinion of the results, but are good to know: The instruction booklet says the one large tray holds "two large eggs," and the same is true when divided among the 4 small trays. But that means without any additional ingredients piled in! So if you crack two eggs, but then add grated cheese, onions, bacon, parsley, or anything else, you are going to have more filling that is needed to fill the cups 2-thirds full, which is what they tell you to do. (If you fill all the way to the brim, the eggs expand during cooking and might overflow their little trays.) I don't want to have any filling left over, because I don't have time before work for a second round of cooking. I only have time for "one and done!" And beaten eggs don't save well, and I don't want to toss out expensive organic eggs. So if you don't want to wind up having to choose between tossing the extra and waiting through a second round of cooking, use only ONE egg and combine with nice fillings like chopped green onion, chopped pimento, crumbled feta, whatever. That way, you use up your "batter" in one cycle. Second piece of advice is to use oven mitts that have fingers: My first time, when I used our big, unwieldy "mitten" hot mitts, I did not have enough "dexterity" to easily lift the little trays out of the hot cooker. Next time, I used gloves with fingers (fabric yard gloves will work), and did just fine! Sorry for the long review, but this little cooker is a real treasure, very versatile, and worth the reasonable price. Just learn from my experience about the water, the amount of egg, and the type of gloves you want to use to lift them out. Enjoy!

Great little device; see review for advice in using
Great little device. Easy to use. Made egg bites per advice. Cooked them less than advised but they still came out denser and harder than desired. Going to make them again and cook less minutes. Also add mayo or arrowroot to the mix (Starbucks does that, either arrowroot or a little corn starch) I looked up Starbuck's nutrition info and that is what they do to make them fluffier.

Damaged and very badly packed
This product was very badly packed and had obviously been thrown around in transit, rattling around inside a much bigger box. This had ended up with the machine having 3 major splits to the lid. It would be unsafe to use.

Genial
