Quality brass fitting
This part I bought is a 1/2" straight thread through the hull fitting, as a machinist I can tell you if you're looking to install a water pump to wash a boat down or a similar install, I was looking to install a ball valve to this first. being a straight thread I thought I would need a adapter fitting to go from straight thread to1/2" NPT ( Pipe thread ) into the ball valve. Not necessary. The thread is the same pitch, and the diameter is the same as the leading thread of the NPT thread. Yes there is a gap in the thread after you thread the fitting into the ball valve, but you need to use pipe sealant or Teflon tape anyway. This is not a high pressure system so it's fine. McMaster Carr a supplier of these fittings and a million others things confirmed this compatibility.Great install Project
