Frontier Soups Corn Chowder Hearty Soup Mix, 7 OZ

I love this soup! I add chicken, diced potatoes and crushed red pepper flakes. It’s delicious!!!

I cannot believe the quality/flavor of this kit. I made it exactly as the recipe on the bag (used 3 medium yukon gold potatoes) with store bought chicken broth. The ingredients here are few, but I didn't need to add any extra corn or other veges. Someone mentioned it being watery, but it wasn't, and if you did want it thicker, it's easy to do by smashing some of the potatoes you cooked into it (or using a thickener). I made it to use up leftover ham, and you could easily add chicken, seafood, fish, or tofu to it as well (and other/extra veges - fresh or frozen, if desired). No preservatives or strange ingredients, and the flavor was perfect. So easy and delicious. Even my picky twins ate it. Admittedly, my made-from-scratch chowder is superior to this, but for quick, easy, and not full of strange ingredients, this kit is fantastic!

My husband and I really love this soup. I always add 1 lb. of chopped up cooked chicken to make it Chicken Corn Chowder. Yum!

I'll admit to being a bit of a corn chowder snob. I also do NOT like a spicy corn chowder and this isn't. The flavor is outstanding and I was very happy with it. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the directions. The first step is to put potatoes in the broth and simmer for 45 minutes. Do you know what potatoes taste like after boiling that long?! Okay, getting past that I also added fresh corn to make it more robust and got a rotisserie chicken from the grocery and added that as well. It also needed salt. However, this made a VERY hearty soup. Because it makes so much I took half the soup right before you put the cream in and froze it. Now, when I'm ready for more soup I'll just unfreeze it and add the cream then. Loved this soup! Will definitely buy more of this brand.

This soup makes it so easy and so good and so fun to make. I made it for my parents. My dad brought it off Amazon and I made it. I added my own touch I like to have a little bit more flavor so I added a garlic powder And onion powder I just like a little bit more flavor. I loved it so much that I brought one for myself and added chicken to it along with garlic and onion a little Italian seasoning to spice it up it’s a really goodbye and a reasonable prize and your family will love it.

Easy to make, great quality, as good as mom could make

I used to be a big fan of the Nile Spice line of chicken chowder back when that was still made. For some reason it is difficult to find freeze-dried corn locally, so when I saw this item I was very excited to find a way to enjoy my old favorite soup. Like quite a few others I failed to notice that this is not an all inclusive soup kit. You must add potatoes, cream and extra corn in order to make this item. Food prices are going up, but $7 does seem like a bit much for a starter, especially that carries the name "Hearty Meals". The only reason I have it three stars was that hey at least it included the dehydrated corn. Next time I'll be trying to find the dehydrated veggies & corn separately.
