UPGRADED from Leviton - This Solved the "Wall Plug Temperature High" issue with Tesla Mobile Charger
Like others have reported, I've been using a Leviton 14-50 to charge my Tesla since 2019.... I don't recall any problems initially. Then, after a year, I would occasionally experience the "Charge Rate Reduced- Wall Plug Temperature High" error. The frequency increased and I lowered by charge setting to 28 amps. This solved the problem for a little while. Beginning last year, the hot plug warning became an almost weekly occurrence (at 30, 28 and 25 amp settings) so I begrudgingly ordered the Bryant Electric 9450FR based on all the videos and reviews. The Wall Plug Temperature warning hasn't returned since I've replaced the Leviton with the Bryant. I would recommend using the Bryant 9450 plug from day #1. No reason to order anything else if you are charging an EV using a 14-50 connector.

Great EV charging recepticle
I wanted to make sure I was using a heavier grade outlet than a range/dryer outlet due to the removal of the plug occasionally. This unit is solid and well worth the additional pennies. Make sure you order a face plate to fit this one. It is bigger in diameter.

Heavy Duty Receptacle
Built for heavy duty such as welders or EV charging. Don't buy the cheap receptacles at the Home D. that may overheat. Pay the extra $ for a receptacle that will handle the load. Safety for your garage or home.

Solid, sturdy product
Great product. Sturdy. Made out of quality materials. Very good contact with the Tesla NEMA 14/50 collector plug. Only caveat is to find a compatible wall place. I found one at Ace HW. Also it comes with 2 screw for the mud ring. Everything else is great.

Better than the cheap ones
Better than the cheap ones this receptacle was better than the $10 ones at the box store. I was expecting a little better quality. The screws and plastic seemed ,I hate to say it , cheap. It hasn't melted or caused any electrical issues yet.

Code Compliant heavy duty
These are the homeowners version of the new beefy NEMA plug for electric cars. This is great and a must have.

Definitely feels better than from big box stores
If you’re installing a 240v EV charger, you’re going to need this. Don’t get the ones at the big box retailers. The price can be tempting but they are not industrial grade that can handle an EV charger. I’ve seen those low quality plugs melt because of consistent use. This one is great. You can instantly feel the difference in build quality and weight. I’d order this again if I’m installing an EV charger outlet.
