The males and females are similar, male get a little larger. will accept a variety of foods, such as flakes and pellets.This is a fish that's considered a good beginner's cichlid. However, like other cichlids it will become territorial, especially toward con-specifics, during spawning. Will forage and dig through the substrate trying to make a burrow. This fish should be kept with other similar fish, such as small Tanganyika cichlids All fish sold are not colored. we give our fish the best of foods and try our best to mimic the lake parameters, we will not be responsible for the fish colors or health in the customers tanks since we do not know what kind of foods or water parameters each customer has in his or her tanks.
