I used one of these to fix a chest freezer that I found by the side of the street in the trash. Took the freezer home and took it apart and sure enough, the ceramic disk inside the start relay was shattered. This replacement has now been running for over a year. Free freezer!After I did that, I was feeling confident, so I picked up a broken kegerator on Craigslist for free. Brought it home...same exact problem, same exact fix. Free kegerator!I feel good saving these things from landfills, but I feel even better getting free appliances. This is a very easy thing to fix, so if you're wondering whether you should do it, go ahead and do it. Just make sure to unplug the thing first. And don't touch the capacitor! If you don't know why I'm telling you not to touch the capacitor, or you don't know what that even means, watch some videos first and read some guides so you don't have an unfortunate appliance repair accident.

Working fine

This was just the part I needed for my Frigidaire refrigerator. It was easy to install and worked perfectly. It’s the part that turns on the compressor. You can tell that the old part is bad if it rattles when you shake it. When you order, look at the old part and note how many pins it has, and then order one with the same number of pins. This part has 3 pins, but I believe there are 1 pin and 2 pin versions. It’s an easy mistake to make.

I had two chest freezers cut out with bad starter relays (compressor doesn't run, but heats up and continues to draw). You should use a multimeter to confirm which pin is which, and you'll likely need to pull out the overload protection from the old all-in-one job they put on a lot of modern compressors and wire it separately. Do your homework, and make sure the resistance you need matches--these aren't universal.

Fit perfectly in the chest freezer and worked well.

Fixed my igloo freezer. Part easy to replace. Hardest part was removing wire cover finally just pulled off with screwdriver. Take pictures of connections and popped back on. Freezer started and started freezing right up.
