Great resource for pilots that still aren't super comfortable with the radio
Another reviewer criticized this book for it's conversational tone and some of the author's other books which almost caused me not to buy this book, but I'm very glad I did. This book is not a reference manual for how to talk to ATC... the FAA ATC and FAR/AIM explain the nitty gritty terminology and ideal (for ATC at least) structure of radio communications in a clear and bland manner. In my opinion this book is an excellent resource for PPL's or higher time students and reads much more like a knowledge transfer from an experienced pilot rather than a textbook or tutorial. As a part 61 trained PPL with low hours at almost exclusively untowered airports I've never felt at home in communications at towered airports and communicating with ATC in general. This book is a good cover to cover read that is well structured with breakdowns on the communications you can expect in different types of airspace. It's frustrating to me that communications tend to be glossed over in many online flight schools (I took the online King schools course) because the assumption is you train at a towered airport and your CFI will cover it. Sure, I learned enough to pass my checkride and do my required towered landings safely, but this book has definitely helped fill in the gaps in my training when it comes to the radio. For ~$15 (vs $60 for a CFI) this book is a no brainer for anyone that wants to improve their knowledge of radio communications.

Great information for student pilots.
Radio usage--especially with ATC--is super intimidating for this student pilot and this book helps clear up a lot of the confusion surrounding proper radio etiquette.Highly recommended.

Very Good book to get a general overlook of ATC COMM
A good book to get some basic understanding of ATC COMM technique. Had the first version some 20 years ago as a foreign student pilot. Bought the latest version do my Junior can use it for his pilot training. I can say this book helped 2 generations of pilots in my family. Hopefully I can buy a 3rd version one day for my grandchild.

Awesome book for student pilots
This book, more than any other resource, helped me to learn how to communicate accurately and effectively with other pilots and with ATC. Awesome book. :)
